My and a Friend are arguing over which Oompa Lumpas' are better. The ones in the New Tim Burton film of the organge guys in the Gene Wilder version.

Personally I think that the new ones beat the old ones in everyway. Looks, performance, songs and dances.

I like the old guys since they got a cameo in Futurama.

SHUT THE HELL UP!

Those were the days...

I like the new ones better because one of the oompa actors was handing out marshmallows dipped in a chocolate fountain thingy at the cinema  :).

Well, I liked the marshmallow. The Oompa Loompa guy was like, "Eat this. I'm not taking it home. I chase you with stick!".

You do all realise the new Oompa Lumpa's are all Deep Roy, replicated hundreds and hundreds of times? So I'm guessing the Oompa actor you met giving out marshmallow, Zmithy, was the Oompa Lumpa actor  :p
But nah, Deep Roy did have to put in a hell of a lot of performances for this film all the same, so full credit to him.
He got a million $s for his work, which thinking about it is probably over 10 times the salary of all the Oompa Loompa actors from 1971 put together...

Oh!  :o

Well, some short tanned guy in the costume then.
He spoke Spanglish and acted like he'd been getting high on his own own sugar supply.

Grunka Lunkas are better than Oompa Loompas.

Close one. I think the ones form the original look cooler and have a better song, but the ones in the new one were funnier all around, so I'll have to go with the new ones.

The new ones. Although the original movie's Oompa songs were classic, these were actually from the book, and the improv joke that was taken from it was great. Oh, and the new Oompa Mike Teevee song showed a parody of the Beatles, which makes it even cooler.

The fact that all the Oompa Lumpa's were the same guy made this movie a truly magical experience for me. I'm a better person for having seen them. Better than finding Jesus under your couch.

I love both of them, but after seeing the new movie, I fell in love with these ones. I think it`s the hair standing up in the back..

I voted for the new ones, but the original ones just seem more familiar, since when they're parodied, the original ones are used.

Then why'd you post here?

I haven't seen the new ones. But I think I like the Futurama ones best of all. But movie-wise, they're both creepy. Still, I'll say the old ones.

Juliet's avatar and sig shows off David Tennant - the 10th Doctor  ;)
(10th and currently-in-filming version of Doctor Who if that's still not clear - we did export Doctor Who to the Colonies didn't we?)

What's "sh*t"? Seems like you left something to be desired.

As for the Oompa Lumpas, they are all equal when it comes to their ability to scare the...um...sh*t out of me.

Oh Gorky. Surely you know that Dr. Bender Nye thinks that he will be censored if he says shit like "sh*t". It matters not.

And yes the oompa scare the shit out of everyone. But somehow I wasn't really fazed. Then again, it's not like I watch the movies everyday or anything. I have more stupider things to be afraid of.

Oh yes, I know who he is, but five pictures of him is possibly four too many.

Doctor Who isn't on TV in the US. I've only seen the Doctor Who movie on one of the movie channels.

Oompa Loompas are evil, you sad sacks of shit! It's a conspiracy. Ever heard of the Free Masons? It's actually the FREE OOMPAS! Patriots like me fought and died to save the world from those orange monsters and this is the thanks we get. Oh, they tried to hide it by calling it "The Vietnam War" but we knew better.

Time for bed, I think!

Deep Roy, I knew I recognized him, he was in Big Fish too, and apparently ROTJ as a character called Droopy McCool (fucking awesome name, eh?)
I didn't know it, I do now.

Wasn't he also supposed to play Ghan Buri Ghan in ROTK? But it was cut out?
