Simpsons - The Return of Maggie Roswell?

Maggie Roswell left 'The Simpsons' after Season 10 and came back in time for the production of Season 14 and then resumed being a permanent voice actor on the show.

Does anyone know what went into getting her back to the show and what Matt Groening's position was on the situation?

If they felt there was a chance she would be back in a few seasons after she went in 2000 they should have just temporarily retired her characters for at least 2 years or so *just to see what would end up happening* as the person that replaced Maggie Roswell didn't really sound that great doing her characters and the way Maude was exited from the show was pretty ridiculous.

I'm not too sure on how Maggie Roswell herself left the show, but Simpsons-type topics all belong in The Simpsons Thread to maximize space.

She left because she wasnt going to be given a pay rise like the rest of the cast, which she felt was unfair since although she did less characters / less important characters than others, she had to fly in from colorado every time they needed her (which she had to pay out of her own pocket).

As to the circumstances of her return, I hadnt realised she was

I think they worked something out that allows her to record her lines from Colorado, thus eliminating the issues she had with traveling back and forth.

Off the top of my head, Helen Lovejoy, Ms. Hoover, Luann Vanhouten, and various bit characters like Sherry Bobbins and Princess Kashmir.  Basically a good amount of the female characters.

It makes it even more annoying that they Killed Maude off, they really should just bring her back  with no explanation.
