Also, this guy does some interesting thinking about possible meanings of many things in series 3. And unlike most of the Billy Quizboy figuired out with a toilet paper tube crap theorised on the internets it is quite a good read. Being a Professional Writer helps this guy a lot.

Looking back, my favourite episodes in this series are The Doctor is Sin, The Buddy System and Home Is Where The Hate Is.

Another cliff hanger type finale.  Overall, I thought this season was just ok.  I really enjoy the previous ones better.  The highlight of this season for me was the Dr. Mrs. The Monarch outfit.

I have to admit that this season wasn't half as intense as the previous ones... Season 2 opener was just orgasmic.... but, I did like all the story building.  They've got a real knack for writing, and it's like every little subtle detail in the series gets brought forward to become another pivotal piece of the puzzle that is Venture.

Also, Brock was pretty damned cool without any hair.... he just seems a little toned down lately.... it used to be that he'd just tear a man in half without saying anything... and then there was that time he got hit with a truck and like 50 stun needles.... or that time he smashed into a speeding car backwards without blinking.

I thought this season was good, I still think season 2 is the better of the 3

Oh snap, that button makes me want a wikipeelia page.

I kinda liked season 2 more as well. But season 3 was awesome.
My favourite episodes of the season were probably, if I had to pick a top 3:
The Family that Slays Together Stays Together, The Lepidopterists, and the Invisible Hand of Fate.

Lepidopterists followed by Doctor is Sin, etc. are the funniest, but TFTSTST and TIHOF are just plain awesome (and certainly not without their humour).

I miss Phantom Limb. His voice and persona made for the coolest kind of villain. That is, villain of the villain (the Monarch)... who's even more awesome in a completely different way.
Phantom Limb appeared in flashbacks in episode 1 and 3 this season, and hasn't been seen since. Which reminds me, wasn't he supposed to be still alive and the guild are searching for him? What ever came of that?
Oh well, I hear he'll appear in some form next season (in the first 2 episodes apparently).
My point is, it was plots involving him that made me love season 2 more than 3... Victor. Echo. November. for example... was amazing.

And let's not forget season 1 in all this season comparison. With episodes like Ghosts of the Sargasso, and Are you there God, It's me Dean?... And of course: "Mecha-Shiva!!" Damn. There are some good episodes.

Anywho, this quick post is turning into a directionless rant, so I'm going to stop it here.

The Venture Bros. season 3 released today on DVD and Bluray. The Bluray comes with a CD soundtrack.

Season 4 will be split up into two halves with 8 episodes each, instead of 13 episodes all at once. The first half will hopefully start before the end of this year, and the second half around June 2010.

Oooh, 16 episodes for season 4?  Nice.

I'll be picking this up as soon as I get a chance to get to the store.  It's a shame the soundtrack only comes with the Bluray version.  I don't have an HD TV or a player (or the desire to buy either), so it's standard DVD for me.

fff, I spent like 4 times that. Of course, I got the DVD and Bluray version, so I can watch it in high def and on the go.
After all, it's my favourite show.

It's a great set. The Bluray looks awesome and there's deleted scenes and commentary with Jackson and Doc for every episode. There aren't any, like, tour-of-the-AstroBase type special features, and the alternate opening for the last episode was unintentionally left out which kinda sucks, but still awesome overall.
Also, it's uncensored, and I still haven't decided if that's a good thing, since the, em, cartoon penises are kinda creepy.

I saw my first episode of venture bros. one week ago. I am hooked, I have seen all the episodes multiple times and they never get tired

I love this show because it doesn't make you feel like a stoner or a retard, it is well written and actually has a plot

Thank Thinky for that .

I think everyone is here loves Dr Girlfriend. It must be her harsh throaty voice.

Seriously though, I can't wait for the 4th series this November. Predicting Obi-Wan force ghost reference with our favourite Henchmen. That and Dean almost scoring. And I demand more Captain!

I believe that voice behind Dr. Girlfriend is the creator of Venture Brothers.

No way! I can't imagine anyone else but Doc Hammer playing Dr. Girlfriend. I was simply implying that he was part of the creation of Venture Brothers and not just voice acting.

Don't forget Jackson Publick too! If you love this show check out the animated series of The Tick which is just as awesome.

In other news, I must praise the art you get with the DVDs. I wonder if we can get posters or even t-shirts of the stuff down here.

I can't get the origimals DVDs here unless I get it through online. I would love a T-shirt too.

The best part about being able to draw is you can create your own posters. Now if only I can find the time to sketch

There's nipple in the DVD version of that scene.

Where did you hear November? It's supposed to be before the end of this year, so November is a pretty good guess, but I haven't heard anything specific.

Also, Adult swim posted some parts of the comic con panel. The whole thing's also available on YouTube but in extra-crap quality, and minus the Season 4 preview which we should see soon from [as].

Season One arrived. The extras alone are worth forking out for. My word, but what I wouldn't give to be Brock Samson. He has a sweet car, and he gets to work out his incredible rage in constructive ways, like killing people.
