C'mon, spawn, those points are left ambiguous. Most people think that the boys are clones, some don't. Many people believe that they did die, though that isn't explicitly clear either. It's all up to you! Draw your own conclusions! Lord knows I've drawn mine about Mr. White and Mr. Quizboy.

Ok maybe I think they're clones, which may explain why Dr. V wanted to get their clothes.  Either way, it's a great show.  Dr. Orpheus should get hs own spinoff.

Finally saw the Venture Brothers Christmas Special last week, when I "acquired" it via the internet.  It's quite good, although there was a bit too much going on for just a 15 minute episode.  Personally, I'd like to have seen less of the Doc Venture hallucinations and more hot Germanic action.

Trianna was adorable in her little "pagan witch thing."  Yet they never mentioned that she was underage when Mr. White was macking on her.  Poor White.

I'm disappointed because AS showed its schedule for 2005, and there was no mention of "new Venture Brothers" season.  Instead we get crap like "Perfect Hair Forever."  Damn you, AS, renew the show already!

They better fucking renew Venture Brothers.  I wish they would just say whether or not they're renewing it (I'm pessimistic about renewal).

There isn't much else as far as new shows on their channel I like to watch.  ATHF was really uneven this past season which makes me wonder if they've run out of writing juice.  The only other new show on AS I've watched a few times is Tom Goes to the Mayor, which sucks IMO.  Bring back Venture Brothers dammit!

Yeah, AS is yanking everyone's chain by slowing down the renewal of The Venture Brothers.  I did check the AS boards, and there seems to be a huge groundswell of support for the show.

Aside from VB, the only other show I watch on AS is Ghost in the Shell, but I can buy the dvds of that.

Advertisements during the episode shown this previous Saturday say the show is moving to Sunday at 11:00.  A Sunday slot makes more sense to me as it goes along with the other comedy shows on Sunday.  Saturday is essentially all anime, so it seemed a little awkward having it as the lead in.

Well, Venture Brothers is half and half - 50% comedy, 50% action. So it sort of made sense to have it play on Saturdays. But I agree, it does fit better on Sunday.

I was digging around on the web for Venture Brothers info and stumbled across this site http://venture.mancubus.net/.  The site says that they have it from a reliable source that the second season of Venture Brothers has been given a go.  This is the first time I've went to this site so I don't know how "reliable" their source is, but it's good news for some premature hope.  We all know it deserves another season.

The ratings are listed for this weekends showings are on there as well.  The show looks like it is getting some good numbers.

I dunno about a second season of VB, but I saw the same bumps at that guy did.  It's true, VB is now pulling it its biggest ratings yet.  That's a good sign for renewal.

Has anyone signed the "Green Light Venture Brothers" potition at adultswim.com?  There are like over 30 pages, I tried to sign but my internet access stinks.

I hope what I heard was true, that cartoon network just said they didn't know if they were green lighting a second season to create buzz.

From Jackson's Publik's weblog:

Quote
So...do we have a second season or what? Here's the thing about that: you don't just get a call one day saying "go...make a second season." It's a process. Interest is expressed, research is done, and ultimately a budget has to be met. So, if we dot all our i's, cross all our t's and get a budget and schedule together, we will be making a second season of The Venture Bros.. If we don't...well, then more discussing has to be done, more number crunching, etc. Everyone wants it, it's just not official until it's official, hence no official announcement. All that is what's happening now, and as I mentioned last time, things are looking good.

The Monarch: You're probably wondering why you're here. You're here because you done f***ed up too many times! You think you're hot s*** in a champagne glass, but you're really cold diarrhea in a Dixie cup. And if you keep up like you've been doing, this is where you're headed.
[one of the kids listening starts to laugh]
The Monarch: Oh that's funny to you, right? Cause you're so f***in' bad? I know your type. You think 'I'll just get me a costume, rip off the neighborhood kids'. Next thing you know, you've got a jet shaped like a skull with lasers on the front.
(different) Kid: This is totally gay.
The Monarch: What!? Ya think this is gay, hah? Is that what you f***in' said you scrawny piece of s***? Oh this isn't gay. But King Gorilla over there is! And I bet he just can't wait to snap off a piece of your d*** in his a**! [he points over at King Gorilla who makes kissing noises. he then points at Dean] You! Get up! I said get the f*** up!! [he grabs Dean and pulls him up] What's your name?
Dean: Dean Ven-
The Monarch: Your name is bitch!! And I own you. You're property! And when I'm tired of having sex with every hole god drilled in your slender frame- King Gorilla! You got a cigarette? [he takes the cigarette from King Gorilla and pushes Dean into his arms] There. I just sold you for a cigarette. And I don't smoke! [he realizes something] Holy s***! You're Dean f***ing Venture! King, I gotta buy my bitch back. H-here's your cigarette.
King Gorilla: F*** you, gimme a dollar.

There's been rumors circulating that season 2 had be greenlighted a while ago, but they weren't offical. This looks offical and I think we can run with it.  Does the article say when the new episodes will be up and running?

I was just about to post the Season 2 info, but it looks like you beat me to it.  I'm so, so happy that the show is getting another 13 episodes.  It's going to be a wait, but I'm confident it will be worth it.  In the mean time, I think there will be a DVD release of the first season coming around fall or so.

On that Journal thing, Publick says that he's adding extras, and it takes like 9 months to do so.

I wish I were wrong too.

EDIT: This was tken from tvtome.com

March 13, 2005
Looks like the DVD won't be coming out in November as stated earlier. From Jackson's online journal: ...And with Toyfare came the first nascent conversations with Cartoon Network about Venture Bros. season one DVDs. The good news is they look like they're happening, and we're trying to come up with ways to fill them with extra crap for you all to enjoy. The bad news is, like everything else with animation but for different reasons, it takes like nine months to get a project like this together...so the first quarter of 2006 is probably the earliest the DVDs would hit the shelves.

Check out Jackson Publick's Web site: www.livejournal.com/users/jacksonpublick  . Right now, they're busy writing the final few episodes of the new season as well as animating what they've got. There are also completed background available for your gawking pleasure. The episodes should be out by March or April of next year.

Terrific. Can't wait.

Where can we gawk at the background? (Never Mind. I think I found them. The Lab and the Livingroom right?)

Taken from Jackson Publick's Live Journal:
"Well, Adult Swim will be airing the Venture Bros. pilot this Christmas."

That's probably the episode airing Sunday at 1:30am (duh), if you've never seen it (Like Me), this could be the last chance to before the release of the DVD.

This is the DVD set I'm most looking forward to getting.  A new season is an even more exciting event.

I torrented the episodes, so I've already seen the pilot.  I didn't expect the ending.  The pilot is worth seeing just to see what some of the characters looked like on first draft, especially the Monarch.

EDIT:  Awww, I just read Jackson Publik's blog where it says the DVDs will be delayed.  I read the season premier will be delayed until June on The Mantis Eye Experiment site.  Better late than never.

Make sure you listen to the stocking stuffer linked to in his blog.  It's an mp3 song of the Monarch and two henchmen singing a Christmas tune.  It's pretty funny.

Also of note is the bottom of the December 8th entry.  It says Venture Bros. shirts are being carried by the Hot Topic website and presumably their stores.  There might be something worth going into that store for afterall.

Just a reminder, the new season of The Venture Brothers begins tomorrow. Hopefully they'll show em non-stop like last season, it would certainly make up for the year and a half wait.

It starts at 10:30pm.

I believe the title is Powerless in the Face of Death.

You read my mind, Spawn_3005, I was just about to bump this.

I got to see the new episode last night on Adult Swim Fix.  It's pretty tight, I'm looking forward to watching it again on Sunday.

I would also like to mention that the Season 1 DVD came out a few weeks ago and everyone should go and buy it.  The artwork on the inside of the DVD case is sweet.  I watched through all the episodes so far.  I've seen more artifacts in the picture than I'd like, but it could be my DVD player.  Most people probably won't notice though.  It's definitely worth getting if you're a fan of the show.

Yes, the pilot is on the DVD.

Video artifacts are visible defects in the video usually caused by a sloppy authoring of the DVD.  I can give you more info on them if you want, but it's one of those things where once you have it shown to you, you're going to see them a lot.  Most people don't notice them though.
