I don't know what there child or children will look like but another interesting question is whether they will inherit the lack of the Delta Brain wave like Fry.  Also they might have some traits that Leela parents have like a vertical mouth or tentacles.

Would it be possible for the baby to have one giant eye and one small eye, like that character Ned from the show Doug? I think that would look kind of funny. I think the genes would combine to make blue hair. If it was a boy, the baby would probably grow up to look like Stu Pickles or something. If there was a girl here, then she would probably have the hair like Fry's mom, fork at the front, long in the back. Hopefully she's got Leela's kick ass body too.

Mother Nature's a wild beast. So many genetic possibilities to go over.

Just one thing I'd like to point out with the whole # of eye thing, TheLampIncident suggests that the baby might have one large and one small eye, and surely there are others that have wondered of if there's any "middle stage" between, some sort of a freaky 1 1/2 eye...well in KGKUAN, we do actually see the result of a mixup of Leelas DNA with the DNA from a 2-eyed person (in this case Kif),  half/half mix of one big eyed and two normal eyed babies, and I assume the same thing applyes here.

True, there is also the fact that Leela is indeed, still a mutant. The child could have traits of an ordinary mutant, unless the gene pool (mixing  mutant and human genes) is effected by Fry, she could be more human then mutant in the end.

Red? Purple? One eye? Two eyes?

The haircolor might most easy to be answered. As it does in most cases - a child's haircolor is the mix of those of the parents.
Sometimes the genetic information makes "a jump over a genaration" and the child has the haircolor of the grandparents. This is explained by the so called "trash genes", actually not used genes in our DNA which can be active in future generations.

Cyclocephaly (or -cephalie ?):
Cyclocephalic babies are born with none eye, two eyes partly melted together or - in most cases - one eye. It's unknown if the Cyclocephalic-gene is dominant to the two-eyes-genes or if it is otherwise.

Basing on that knowledge we could maybe calculate if a possible child of Leela and Fry would have one or two eyes.
Anyway, it would be a wild genetical mix.
(About genetical mix ... Teral, wasn't there once this episode where Worf and Dax wanted to have a baby and Dr Bashier told them he first has to check if this would go well genetical? I hope you'll know a bit more about this.)

Yes, Bashir had to conduct some tests, and later gave Dax a medicine called "ovarian resequencing enzymes" which is a Starfleet fetility drug. If the treatment was succesfull Dax and Worf would be able to have a child. In "Tears Of The Prophets" Bashir tells Dax the medicine is working, meaning a child was possible. Except, some unfortunate things happened in TOTP...

Hair color is determined by which gene is dominant and which gene is recessive. For instance, the gene for blond hair is recessive and the gene for brown hair is dominant (if I remember correctly), hence why blond people have 2 "blond" genes. Thisis also why some traits can "skip a generation", because those traits are recessive.

Basically the eye/hair color question depends, whether the "purple hair gene" and the "cyclops eye gene" is recessive or dominant.

Luckily the ponytail gene is dominant.

I've just read A Helping Hand.  It was fantastic.  I've never read anything so moving.  I also think that if there was ever any possibility of continuing the series they could spread that story over an entire season.

That story has influenced my opinion.  So the baby would be a girl with two eyes and purple hair with red mixed in.  And when she grows up she will have Amy's fashion sense

I think that Nosebleed made a very good point.  If we do use KGKUAN as a guide for a Fry and Leela child, then I think that maybe 1 out of the 30 children they (Kif and Leela) had were cyclopes.  Also they all seemed to be non-mutant besides the one eye thing.  We don't know if they will develop the right number of arms and legs though.  Do you think the lack of the Delta Brain wave is recessive or dominate, i.e., is there any chance children will have this or is simply a Fry thing.

As a note, all members of the Frys have the characteristic “Prong” hairstyle (excluding Mildred and Yancy Jr’s wife, but the gene is still clearly the dominant).

Bravo, excellent idea. That would be so touching if Leela and Fry gave that name to thier son. However, as mentioned, Yancy really wasn't overly fond of his name so perhaps they'd make Yancey thier son's middle name. Here are some of my idea's for what thier son's name would be if they had a son. (Note the use of "Y" as the middle initial and the generally trippy nature of the first names):

Anlon Y. Fry - Anlon means great champion!

Sun Y. Fry - He's their son and his name is Sun! Get it? Man, I'm lame...It's also a Korean name meaning goodness.

Turanga Y. Darin - Hey, it's the distant future, perhaps they'd give him his mother's family name.

I am liking the purple hair, two eyes thing, though. Is the purple hair a mutant thing? I tend to think it is, but then I get confused by the magenta-ish haired Igner. Maybe he dyes it... In any case, it would be a good way to keep Leela's genes, and maybe her ties to her mutant heritage, visibly involved without the poor kid growing up with the stigma of the eye thing. Oh, and I have to say that picture is adorable, DrJohnZ.

I find the argument of offspring having two eyes is the most compelling. But hair is harder to figure out, considering that all the Turangas on the show have purple hair, while Fry's family is either red or brunette. We are left in the dark when it Leela's genetic family tree, but a child of theirs(being only half mutant) would likely be fairly un-mutated.

Hair color is a matter of polygenic inheritance, so I'm guessing that Nova (the kid's name) will have the medium between orange and purple hair, anywhere from brown to maroon.  One eye might be recessive, so the baby could have two eyes.  Boy or girl?  A matter of chance.

I think I'd be cool if their kid had Red hair, and One Eye. But since Red Hair, being a mutatation of Blond Hair, is Recessive, and Leela probably doesn't carry a Red Hair gene, that'd be very unlikely.

I don't think it's ever been mentioned, a mutant breeding with someone normal. We realy don't have any idea what a mutant's genes could do to someone who isn't a mutant, or if its superiorly dominant or weak to a regular human's gene.

Probabilitywise, two eyes is dominant. Fry's side is completley two-eyed, and it's an anomaly on Leela's side.

Red hair IS a dominant in Fry's case, if you look at his backround (I did this on the page already) and his Irish heritage.
