Hey, "Amazon Women" had to be a good episode in order for it to be nominated for an Emmy. Also, who are the 4 people who voted for Bender. Futurama would burst into flames by the 3rd episode without Bender.

What's more unbelievable, Kif has 7 votes!!

But I think I've made me feelings about that clear already.

Actually, they all have strong holds. Amy wouldn't have a boyfriend without Kif and we'd loose out favorite animated beaurocrat, Hermes. I'm sorry I ever voted.

I remember the concept of Mom's character being nice and sweet on the outside and a real jerk in private, but by her second appearance they seemed to have dropped that. In "Mother's Day" she doesn't wear her fat suit and she is mean to everyone out right. What happened?

I think she doesn't bother using the nice old woman facade around the PE crew after the events of "Mother's Day."  Do we see her acting outright mean around anyone besides the crew and her sons in later episodes?  Maybe I'm forgetting something.

I haven't seen Mother's Day for a while, but didn't it involve her taking over Earth with the help of all of her robots? If I was taking over the planet I might not bother keeping a nice-guy facade going.

In 300 Big Boys she's back in the fat suit, but still talking like the evil woman she is. Then again, she was around rich folk, not the masses who she needs to win over with her loveable image.

Back to the topic of the post: I'm voting for Amy. I love Hermes; I just came here from posting how cool his name was! He made me briefly rethink my opinions about bureaucrats, until I remembered that he's fictional  :) I think Amy only works in conjunction with Kif.

Mom never publicly said she was trying to take over the world. When Morbo asked her she said didn't know why her robots ran wild, but she blamed todays violent media. Making the robots keep quiet would be just a matter of pressing the right botton.

Voted for Amy. Everyone's voting for Hermes, but I like him while Kif and Amy annoy me. Especially Amy, she ruined Kif's character in some ways for me, though everyone's going to disagree with me on that. Plus, I can't really get much of a handle for her personality.

And look, Kif and Amy have the same amount of votes. What a perfect couple... to be thrown into the garbage.

And how could Bender and Zoidberg get votes? Comedy relief is just as important on Futurama as the heart. You need a balance and if one of them dissapeared out of no where, the show would die.
EDIT: even if it has already been canceled...

amy definitely. close winner over hermies..just because i dont find her funny at all, also hermies is a very good non comic relief, but with comical sides to his anal personality. when it comes down to it, amy i find is semi dry.

I have to say I have pondered what a show like Futurama would be like if the Professor was the only constant Planet Express in the show, he says he keeps sending crews to their deaths, so you have to wonder if over the various seasons they did something like have Fry, Leela, and Bender all get killed, bring a new crew, maybe only kill part of this crew, just the Professor sending multitudes of crews to his death. Nobody would particularly stick in your mind, but hey, that's life.

Thanks for the welcome.

I only chose Kif because I think all the other characters are fantastic and he's the weakest one.

Not to say I dislike him though, just out of all of them I think the show could have done without him.

I'm voting for Hermes. He had his good moments (at the sun in The Farnsworth Parabox, his brilliant song) but seems to act mainly to tell the crew where they're delivering to. The Professor can do that.

However, I do agree that Amy kind of ruined Kif. I loved him in the first episodes, when he was sarcastic and dry. He was the perfect match for Zapp, and brought out all Zapp's qualities perfectly. However, after they met, Kif became nervous and lovey and submissive. It was annoying, because he was so funny before. So if Hermes wasn't part of the equation, I'd vote Amy (don't kill me Kryten!). I especially hated her in The Farnsworth Parabox, with parallel Amy. That scene was stereotypical, annoying, and un-Amy-like.

And to some extent, I agree with aslate - good old Zoidy is overrated! Lobstertainment was a terrible episode, and in WMIBACIL he was so selfish and thoughtless - hardly himself at all. I think he's best for one liners, now and again - (Blood... thicker... than... water...) but wouldn't be sorely missed, as the episodes which have a lot of him in them are really the worst ones, in my opinion.

Not a bad idea for a tv show....after 1 season, kill off one, or the entire main cast and start fresh....then the same again in the next season....that'd be new and interesting I reckon....oh my yes.... :)

Hermes..probably. I do like him and his beuracrat quirks(like when he filed his sweat - totally quirky) but he's not as strong a character as the rest, which is fine... it would be more of a family and less like a workplace without him, which would suck.

Aw, come come people.. All of the characters are funny and have parts to play. Some shows have one gag characters that get old fast, but not Futurama! Even the most obscure[La'Barbara, for example] have wonderful oneliners[Jamaican bacon?], so why fight over who should go? Nobody's leaving anytime soon anyway, eh?

IŽam not sure for who IŽll vote but to the amy-Kif part of discission: If you want to devolop characters you must give them some past, opinions, special hobbies, etc. I think Amy has a verry little of this and Kif has nothing at all.
