Yeah, I'm pretty certain they weren't going out then either since he could still barely speak to her in AWITM.

I also don't like the Kif/Amy angle, though. I really only liked Kif as Zapp's long-suffering, sarcastic assistant, and along with that, I just think Kif/Amy make for an uninteresting pairing.

Amy's parents seemed to think that Kif was a good guy for Amy in "A Flight to Remember". But if I remember correctly, they looked down on him in a later episode. Maybe they originally liked him because they thought he was a captain?

Yeah, the later episode is " Where the Buggalo Roam." I think Kif/Amy is cute, but it feels like Amy doesn't care as much as Kif does, which kind of bothers me. I like Fry/Leela so much because I always knew Leela loved him, she was just too scared to admit it.

Either Bender and Amy or Calculon and Coilette.
Bender and Amy would have worked out quite well, I think; they certainly did care for each other and I personally think they are much better suited for one another than Amy and Kif.
Calculon and Coilette were sweet. Probably my favorite Futurama shipping, but that's a tough call.

I thought they worked well as a short-term couple, but Bender hasn't been able to make a (romantic) relationship last more than one episode, so I guess anything involving him is doomed.
