And apparently some weird Aussie amusement park sounds somewhat similar.

I thought it was a zoo? Somewhere in Sydney? I'm from Melbourne though, so I don't know for sure.

Anyway, I agree that Turanga Leela is a pretty cool name, but I'll have to go with Zoidberg.

Luna Park? Seriously, I've never of anything remotely similar sounding theme parks... maybe it's in the scary alternative  dimension called Western Australia...

Turanga Leela just has a edge of mystery over it.

Alright, she's my favourite character and I can't think of a decent reason why she's got such a good name except she's my favourite character  :p

John Bender in "Breakfast Club" comes to mind, but he wasn't named for him. It was decided that he was a bending unit when the character was made and so they called him Bender. Some people thought it was the other way around.

Oh and I'm quite fond of Philip J. Fry as a name.

Yeah pretty good zoo worth visting.  A almost off the topic but you kinda brought it up when you mention other sighting's of Futurama Names.  In GTA: Vice City (computer game PS2) there is a car called Hermes, and a Cuban Hermes.  The coincedent is that the car is slow adn boring.....just like Hermes from Futurama.

If you've played Vice City you'll understand!

Hermes: Greek god of travel, trade and communication. He's also the messenger of the Gods and protector of merchants. From him stems the idea of ambassadors (according to legend). He's also a cunning trickster and thief.

How this relates to Hermes Conrad, I don't know.

I suppose that Groening didn't get the line "Eat my shorts." from The Breakfast Club either.  It's all just coincidence, right?

What Luna Park? We have Adventure world (theme park), Kings park (not a theme park but a park with trees and Flowers great for picnic and BBQ…etc)wet n’ wild (only water rides and a pool), if there are anymore parks made for tourist attraction better ask rach…

Oh I voted for Amy. It's a nice name I think.

I'd say Ethan "Bubblegum" Tate is my favourite.

Btw, whats the deal with people misspelling Turanga? In so many fan fics, threads and even wallpapers leela's name get murdered with all sorts of randomness such as Toranga, Toronga, Torunga etc. Theres no such thing as o!

What, nobody is complaining to the Mayor that the second-foremost genius of their time is missing?  I refer of course to:

Wernstrom!

Really, do you laugh half as hard when any other character is named?  Especially when his name is:

Wernstrom!

Philip J. Fry, because it somehow seems to fit the character so perfectly, and because he's named in honor of the late, great Phil Hartman.
