I have to say Homer. Bender drinks alot, but he doesn't seem to match him. Also, Barney's been sober (inconsistently) since season 11's "Days of Wine and D'oh'ses".

Bender is the only one who actually needsto drink, so although it would be a close call with Barney, I would go with him.

Homer used to just be a light drinker, in my opinion, but starting with about season 11, he drank constantly, which is why I voted for him.

Remember that Barney (in seasons 1-10)is basically drinking CONSTANTLY. As he said, if Moe never closed the bar, he'd never leave.
Bender drinks a lot (he has to after all) but he doesn't spend ALL his time doing that. He still goes on adventures with the crew and generally does other things. It's probably close, but it seems like Barney would pull ahead simply because he's constantly drinking as opposed to just doing so on random occasions. I'm not so sure about that. Barney spends most of his time nursing his beers at Moe's, is isn't always knocking them back. He does at times, but I would say that is not as often as Bender is shown to, as Barney's joke is that he is drunk, and the stupid things he does, where Bender's joke is that he drinks excessivly, something that isn't expected of robots.. Plus, Barney has lots of times when he isn't at Moe's, and isn't anywhere near drinking (all of this being pre-sober, of course). Bender, on the other hand, always has time to drink, even in the midst of all his adventures with his friends (really, anywhere he is, he has time to drink... underwater, in the midst of a revolution... it would be more than a little disturbing if he wasn't a robot. But, that's what makes him so unique), more often than not, a LOT of alcohol, often not just beer, but also various cocktails and wines, which have a higher alcohol content than beer does. As well, Bender can, and often does, down crazy amount of alcohol in a single gulp (an entire keg, six pack of champagne, three beers at once), so even if the instances of beer consumption are the same as Barney's, then the quantity of the alcohol consumed would be more. Barney IS constantly drunk, which may be decieving. In Deep Space Homer, for example, Barney gets drunk from a single drink of non-alcoholic champagne... doesn't say much for how much he can drink before getting wasted. I would say that Barney doesn't drink nearly as much as he actually seems to, and Bender drinks more often, more excessively, and more powerful drinks than Barney does.

Good point. It does seem Barney's more "addicted" then he is actually always drinking (hence hooking alcohol directly to his veins ). Still, again it seems like Bender mostly just pulls out alcohol at random points when its neccasary for a joke(or in scenes where they're at the tv), where Barney is pretty much always associated with beer in some way. But its probably close, to say the least. Of course neither approaches Boris Yelstin levels.
