I went with both... They're both inseparable and as separate characters are both funny, sentimental, and easily stick out in my mind. Both.

I think Fry and Bender are both funny!  AstroZombie is right, they are kind of like Laurel and Hardy.

They're both great, but Bender is much more funny. Fry can't be the most comical or even funnier than his buddy Bender; sure, he can have a lot of funny things happen to him and be somewhat funny on his own, but if he out-jokes those around him we'd miss out on the range of his emotions. Bender has more jokes per line of dialogue than pretty much everyone but Zapp, and it's a toss-up for me between those two for the funniest on the show. That's why my vote is cast for Mr. Rodriguez.

I dont know. I love both of them. I must admit I felt more sympathy for Bender when he said 'the sparks keep me warm', in that despondent way he did. It made me sad

Well, maybe the writers try too hard to pack every Bender line with a joke, but Bender himself couldn't give a rat's ass and that's what I love about him.

Plus, Dimaggio's delivery totally slays me.

Both of them. I don't think they'd do too well if they were by themselves. I mean, stupid humor gets old, and so does jerk humor. IMO, it's best in this case to have both of them.

Bender is so much funnier and an all round more complete character. I said elsewhere and im sure to get slated for it again, Fry is quite a weak character overall, but unfortunately unavoidably an essential part of the plot. maybe im missing something about fry, what is it with all the females that find this red headed slob so enticing?

Bender is funnier, but Fry has that type of character that you can't stop laughing at... i'm going to say both.

Fry's lack of brains and his pathetic excuse of a person usually results in accidental humor that always turns out to be hilarious, while Bender's 'Kill All Humans' view on life and his famous first line (B.M.S.M.A. line) and be equally comical; I'd still that anyone against fry's ignorant ways don't beat bender by a hair, yo' a jive-turkey!

He's always funny.  And he has at least, a few great lines every episode which are true winners.

Well, I'll say from experience that there are quite a number of reasons why girls (like myself) fall for Fry and find him so lovable.

Here are some off the top of my head:

1.  We like his "dense" personality, and how he acts so incredibly stupid (even though he can be smart when he wants to be).

2.  He's easy to relate to, and for some people, he even reminds us of ourselves.  Especially if you find something that you and Fry both have in common (being untidy, disorganized, or having an interest in video games, etc.)

3.   He's emotional, and even cries in some episodes.  And you know, there aren't too many guys who would actually cry openly like that.


4.  Obviously, he's a very unique individual.  Mostly, this is due to him being the *only* human on Earth not possessing the Delta Brainwave, also, the only person having done the "nasty in the pasty", etc.  While that's not necessarily a good thing, it does seperate him from regular, every day people.  And this is someting completely unique to Fry as an individual, so at the very least, this does make him special.  But besides that, Fry is someone who's apparently, very important to everyone's survival as a whole (as we find out in "The Why of Fry" ).  I mean, for crying out loud, he's saved Earth a few times (if I remember correctly), and has saved the universe once so far.  And if that's not enough reason to like Fry, I don't know what is.
