It does seem that way. At least in BWABB anyway. I think that's less of an intentional thing than it is a consequence of the writers trying to ignore the Fry/Leela thing for the time being.

Hmm, the thread has been here longer than I have and has my pictures being used to back up people's arguements. And I notice it several years later. Go me!

I voted Leela. Not that I dislike Amy, in fact there's a lot to be said about both of them. Um, actually...I can't actually think of a reason I'd really chose Leela over Amy.

I guess I'll have to go with the talons. I'm into that sort of thing fellas...

yeah, but couldn't they have put it elsewhere in the movie. it's like when horror movies cover a naked girl in blood. you want to look but you feel really terrible if you do. i know thats a bit of an extreme example but it's along those lines.

as far as amy v leela id go with leela because she's a more developed character. i never liked bimbos (i have no idea if thats spelled right) because they've seemed really uninteresting in character and look. amy doesn't have a generic look but she has a generic personality. i liked her at the beginning because she had other quirks that make her more interesting and fun like her klutziness. but later they seemed to get rid of those things.  i better stop now before i start really rambling. amy is not a bad character i just think she could be more interesting.

I agree that Leela is a more developed character, but she would need to be as she has a more central role in the show. She isn't hard on the eyes, but I'd have to go with Amy on looks. So I guess it comes down to the age old question of looks versus brains... Being that I'm already engaged to one woman and thats far too crazy for me, I would have to err on the side of looks... Go Amy!

I'll give the edge to Amy on looks. There's something to be said about having a unique look though too. not unique in an ugly way but as she doesn't look like every boring supermodel in teen movies and magizenes. like i said amy doesn't have a generic look but i think a purple haired cyclops wins in this particular area. (I'm still suprised the animators managed to make that work.)

now that i think back on it i don't think Amy has that much of a generic personality. it's just that her bimbo side can annoy me sometimes.  it can still be funny it just doesn't always make her character much more likeable.

I'm going to have to say Amy on a personality basis. Although probably mostly because of the game. I now literally (not just figuratively) cringe each time she says "It's mine all mine!" in that. That unspeakable act in the deleted scenes of BwaBB doesn't help either 

To me, Amy is far more likeable.

Yes, it was deleted and he was seen later. Yes, it makes sense that if Leela is going to try to kill Fry rather than save him, she'd do the same to Scruffy. But I'm still surprised this made it to the animatic stage, let alone coloured and ready for use.

Perhaps a rage dump is in order, but Leela has never been nearly a favourite of mine and Scruffy is.

A real-life Leela (even with two eyes) would be very difficult to have any sort of relationship with.  Always suspicious, bossy, opinionated and very hormonal.  Any guy marrying that will go to heaven when he dies because he's already served life in Hell.

I'd take Amy myself. 

Amy might be cute, but she's also a airhead. If I was with her I'd be bored out of my brains and out the door within a week. Leela on the other hand.. yes, she's all those things and more and thats what makes her so interesting. Lets face it, life with her is never going to be dull and thats why I'll take Leela every time.

Plus I think she's the better looking of the two. Heck, I even like the eye.
