What was it Nibbler said about saying the first letter of his real name?  Anyone have a clue what Nibbler's real name is?

He says something along the lines of:

"In the time it would take to pronounce just one letter of my true name, a billion galaxies would flare into existence and then fade to nothingness"

So there's no way his actual name could ever be mentioned on the show.

Of course. I'm no Donald Trump, you know. And I have a habit of forgetting things.

But you don't know how long a galaxy needs to flare up... what if it's really tiny galaxies? Then maybe it would only take a few seconds. After all, if the Nibblonians managed to call him something that took as much time to say as "Lord Nibbler", it can't be that long.

Nibblers name is George. I mean come on. It fits so well.

George Nibbler sounds even cooler.

That always bothered me that Leela named him Nibbler and then later we found out his race is called Nibblonians....
Even though it was explained that that was the easy way to pronounce it in English....

Or something....

The niblonians aren't stupid. He probably influenced Leela's mind to call him Nibbler in order to lessen Fry's confusion when he meets the Niblonians. Or one of any hundred other simple explanations.

As for Nibbler's 'real' name, we can only guess. I imagine that they might use some higher form of communication and only use talking to comunicate with 'lesser' races. This would make speaking Niblers real name meaningless, and could take a long time as the higher level comunicaiton could be faster.

yarr...

When the nibblonians created their planet (Eturnium...?) They figured that if Lord "Nibbler" was going to be on Vergon 6, and a human found him, they would probably see his eating talents and call him Nibbler. So they named their species the Nibblonians. Case closed.   :D

Well, if they were giving him the name "Lord Nibbler" for Leela's sake then maybe they did the same thing for the name of their species. They weren't actually speaking English for one thing, just influencing Leela's mind so it seemed that way and the name of their species is presumably in the same incredibly longwinded language as the individual names.
