Does anyone else not care if fry and leela get together.  Storylines involving this are often very dull.  The fianl episode was worse because of it.

Less funny - Perhaps...
Worse - Definately not

I belive shippy episodes are occasionally less funny but i dont think humour is all there is to the show.
I dont think Fry and Leela will ever actually get together "Completely" , even if more episodes are made. (Although a movie could be a different story)
As bad as this sounds, i dont want Fry and Leela to get together if more Futurama is made afterwards, only on a certain 'final' episode or final movie would i want them to get together. In which case, i would very much like them to get together for that good old fashioned sense of closure.

If the series continued, I'd want to see them become closer and closer.  Then a movie would the best way to get them together. After that, experiment with their rrelationship in the show. I don't think it will change much if they got together.

I like movies to sum things up, that's why my next fan fic is going to be movie like (in terms of size and plot)

I think it gave the show a little more of a real life quality. I admit some of the episodes involving them being together were kinda lame, but i still liked it because they were usually less sci-fi.

I liked it because it thickened the overall plot of the show.

It gave it more emotional depth and I think, if not the best, it's a great part of the show.  I was never really into it for sci fi, comedy and the animation were what I got into. But once I figured out about emotional eps, the first shippy one i ever saw was A Flight To Remember, I knew I was a sure shipper.  I knew this wasn't just a better Simpsons, this was a show with tremendous heart.

I beg to differ. The final episode rocked because of this. Think of it this way, would you rather the finale be a funny episode that ends like it's going to have another episode tomorrow or would you rather have an episode full of emotion, wit, and a sense of closure to the season/series.

I choose the second choice. Thank you very much.

I quite like the emotinal episodes like jurrassic bark and luck of the fryrish.  It's just I don't like the idea of fry and leela getting together.

It was kind of annoying that at the end of every Fry/Leela ep, Leela has affection for Fry, and then goes back to hating him. She liked him at the end of "The Sting," and then went back to making stupid excuses to not go out with him in the next ep "The Farnsworth Parabox"! At least we got some kind of closure, and the last ep wasn't completely centered on the Fry/Leela relationship and it was a good ep because of it.

I agree with Shadowstar, it was annoying that Leela would seem to be falling for him at the end of an episode, and then would act indifferent during the next one.  You could have only done that so many times, before it gets old.  Heck, even when X-Files was good, they had the same problem to me, Mulder would see something incredible, and because he and Scully had split up, then she "just" missed it, or she'd see something fantastic, and later on, well, it wasn't really.
