Leela didn't deserve it. She wasn't TRYING to set the woman's movement back 50 years.She was trying to break a gender barrier. She was trying to do a good job and felt horrible every time she hit someone.

Yea, I agree as horrible as Leela is as a blernsball player, Jackie Anderson is a bitch for making her cry.  (Of course I'm going to stand up for the most tricked out cyclops to ever walk on the earth)

I see she is from 'A Leela of Her Own'.... i haven't seen that one, and due to reviews (apart from Teral) I'm not really chasing it down either.

I've only not seen about 5 episodes, and I live in Australia and have dial-up internet, and no cable TV.

I can see why most people on here didn't like it--I REALLY liked it--but that's because I'm a HUUUUUUGE baseball fan. And a Mexican. So it appealed to me. It appeals to me to think that the Mets will continue on a downward spiral and have to resort to having cyclopses pitch in order to draw fans. It amuses me to hear Leela speak in spanish about beans. And it also amuses me that all the whole numbers are retired--I dunno. I just think that it's probably a lot funnier to baseball fans.

For the reasons already stated. Leela was convinced she was doing a good thing. Noone told her about the real impact of her actions, until this Jackie Anderson bitch showed up and tore her apart.

I see my fellow Leela lovers agree with me.  I'm also a baseball fan (I play softball and I have an arm on me!).  Squeezit, I did think it was cool that they had fraction numbers, espicially cause the Mets suck!(I'm from the Bronx so I love the Yanks as all the generations before me.  Still, as much as I hate the Mets, I hate the Phillies even more! Only because some friends and my cousin like the Mets and also NY ROCKS! Sorry, just needed to get that out after Clemens lost his 300, dammit! Is he pitching on June 14th?  I'm gonna be there with the artistic poster- look for me!)

wow we are like twins......i play softball too and i live in new york(but not new york, new york)....except for the fact that i am a mets fan....i am still a loyal mets fan even though they really stink.....but i dont care...i am also a yankee fan.....go jeter! i just went to the yankee game against the texans i think on the 16th of may...it was a great game except they lost but me and my friend got up on the big screen!

I can understand why Jackie would be upset, but it was unfair of her to keep bitching at Leela.  And yep, the bit where she gets beaned with the towel is hilarious...

Yeah,Teamo- Jeter is my fav as well as Sori!  I actually have met him at this sports clinic, and I also met Ozzy Smith and Roy White.  Derek is so cool! I got to talk to him, and I got like tons of autographed stuff from him.   Hey, is softball the only sport you play?  Because I play A LOT, and I was wondering if there's anyone else here who is a sport freak like me.

Wow, you are soo lucky!! I would do anything to meet him!! He is one of the main reasons i am a yankee fan!!

i am a TOTAL sports freak! I play lacrosse, b-ball, soccer, and those are only just a few i play.....belive me i could go on and on.....

Cool, me too, along with animals, music, drawing and hanging with friends.  I skateboard, play b-ball, girl's football, snowboard, street hockey, wall ball, a little bit of lacrosse, tennis, volleyball, even surfed and wake boarded once, and much, much more...

I know I'm lucky- my mom's friend who owns a pet store (my mom's a vet) gave tickets to me as a gift for helping out.  It's worth it, cause I love the animals and I love the Yankees,
and Derek  even though he's about twice my age- a girl can dream, a girl can dream!

Too bad the Angels haven't had such luck this year. Still--I think they'll come back and maybe take the wild card. The Mariners are almost unreal--so I don't think they'll take first. And their lineup isn't as strong. And they've been bogged down by injuries--bah. Donnelly tho. . .Donnely is awesome. . .

Jackie Anderson had to exist so that Leela wasn't a baseball player in later episodes. Hopefully by the year 3000 women in sports will be taken more seriously! Sheesh!

Actually, Yankee fans and mets fans r about equal in ny- i just live in the bronx where yakns r, but in other places mets are popular.  Don't forget- the Yanks aren't perfect and I, personally, like the Angels.

Jackie Anderson was a bitch... but Leela had it coming... she was embarassing a women's movement... therefore she represented an entire gender... and she did it quite badly... I do feel sorry for her... it WAS a publicity stunt... and she DID playfor the mets... and not for the angels... but she had it coming.... and it just sucks.

Then again, it's not like Leela did it on purpose. She thought she was doing a good thing, and the way everybody cheered only strenghtened her conviction. Granted Leela should know better, but I guess she was just so caught up in a dream (playing professional blernsball), that she didn't stop to think things over.
