sorry, spaced out there, what i was going to say before i.............

just kidding!

Fry, i think that they really should make the guy a little smarter. All his other characterisics are just like us though, you know lazy, apathetic, easily bored. just what drives us tp write on message boards all day...AND TAHT'S WHY WE LOVE HIM!

He should have at least confronted leela once about why in the name of all that is holy and just does she continue to reject him no matter what he does.

EX: saving life, conforting her, being a true special friend.

she should at least go out with him ONCE!!!! and he should try to not screw something like that up ONCE!!!

He pathetically keeps on trying to win her heart in a never ending cycle of try, fail, try fail. he should break the damn loop ONCE!!!!

it is like time keeps looping for him, and he is with a really serious guy, and he keeps screwing up no matter what he does, even if he repeats the same day over 2000 times.

i have no ideas where that last thought came from.......DAMN YOU STARGATE SG-1 !!!!!

I'll go call the insane asylum...

If Leela doesn't love Fry, there's not much she can do about that. Why go out with someone you know you don't like as more than a friend? Maybe she'll finally realize how great he is in the series (yeah, I said it, series) finale.

or maybe she will turn out to be a lesbian as alluded to in this line:

LEELA: Look fry, you are a man and i am a woman, we  are just too different.

although she may have just said it to both confuse and scare fry into remission, given her past history with men, it is not, dare i say it, out of the question.

then we have the gratutous nudity scen just before the credits for a split second that your brain can't even process for a few minutes.....

naked conga line FOREVER!

Don't forget that Leela DOES love Fry. Remember "Parasites Lost"? What was so different about Fry when he had the worms? He was stronger and smarter, that's all. Was he a different person? No. Leela practically admits that she loves Fry several times, she's just turned off by his stupidity. (At the end of "Parasites Lost", they WOULD have had sex if Fry hadn't mentioned Amy like an idiot. Nobody deserves to get laid after pulling a line like that out of their ass.)

As for making him smarter - well, that would just ruin the whole thing, wouldn't it?  :p (Seriously, it would kill the series if Leela and Fry got together before the last episode.) Although I have to admit that I'm guilty of wanting to make him smarter as well. After reading through my fanfic (which is mostly done), I realized that I accidently made Fry much smarter than he should be. (I had to try to save it with a cheezy "Oh, I get it; you're not all that stupid, you're just too lazy to think most of the time!" line.)

But, ehm... what's there to say about Fry? He's a good guy, he's caring, he's sweet, but he can be such a clumsy idiot that he tends to kill whatever nice things his good qualities help him achieve. That's pretty much it, right?

indeed, sad as it may be.

i hope you post your fan fic soon, can't wait to read it. also, i too have made Fry too smart. he uses freaking mycrosoft standard conjugation, because of my over active auto correct function. every i'll changes to i will  and the ever present, what is up? Ok ok i dont have that second one but i might as well, and since i am too goddamn lazy to fix it ever time i had to give them nanites to justify "smarness". it worked out though, nanites playing a key roll in parts three and four.

i just had to have a way to kill them without kiling them you know. EX: [the mass of shredded mean reformed and a man took shape.] magic asprin, gotta love it!

Maybe it only seems that way because I'm on here a lot. I'm in the Pacific time zone.

Wait, you actually use M$ Word to write your fanfics? That goddamn thing thinks it's smarter than you are and enforces its standards of writing on you. Actually having a writing style is a big no-no. I can imagine how painful it must be using that thing to write freeform creative work.

i use it for making web sites. i cuttently have a 143 MB futurama fan site with a whole SHIT load of stuff on it, and wordpad made it all possibe, but yes i would agree MS word is a real pain sometimes. and i think it may be written with some french DNA, no matter what you do, it can do it better even if it doesn't do anythying but mess it up even more.

ever try to make a dynamic outline on MS word?...don't even try.

Don't get me wrong here, MS word is ok, but i think it may have an overly confident and self absorbed AI in it, or was writted with french DNA, whichever is more possible.
