who here thinks the most annoying character is Amy? She's god damn annoying but cute as
Bender would say. She can be a pain sometimes. Oh and I think Zap is annoying too.

Welcome to PEEL UltraPimpBot.  :D

Perhaps I should point you in the direction of the Character Disscussion Bit (Human Resource Dept.)

Anyway. I wouldn't say Amy is annoying. I think we all agreed that Geunter was the most annoying, even though he was a one off and Cubert is annoying, but he's supposed to be annoying and the other cast treat him as such.
Amy is too cute to be annoying

Cubert, Cubert and Cubert. I also find Scruffy the janitor pretty annoying, too.

Gunther has to be one of the most annoying cartoon characters ever. Cubert is too, but in a good way  :)

I don't think Guenter and Cubert are as annoying as everyone else does... The most annoying would probably be Scruffy. He so doesn't belong on Futurama.

That bloody stupid little monkey, thank the Buddha he only appeared in one episode. And Cubert, I mean .. who thought Cubert was a good idea?

Why does nobody hate Kif? He started off being fairly funny as the victim of Zapp's gross nature but he just got annoying with all this pathetic "I wuv Amy" crapola. Yeeech, that just becomes cringe-inducing after a while.

I hate Dawn as well ... oh hang on, that's a different show. But still a valid point.

You guys are crazy, i cant believe you hated Cubert so much.  You are just prejudiced against him because he's too ugly to be a wart.
And Guenter<sp?> he was necessary for so many jokes in MU.  If any of you have been to University, that episode rings true 100%.  "I Just want to be a monkey of moderate intelligence who wears a suit.  Thats why i'm transferring to business school!"
Nibbler could not possibly be annoying, he has too big a part in the show.
Scruffy? he's so hilarious.  he's absolutely not necessary but he's always there.  He is the Disco Stu of the simpsons.  The LEAST necessary character but makes me laugh just by existing.
Now, HG Blob's kid is a little annoying, but his screen time was, what, 48 seconds?
Mom's middle sonis a little annoying.  Irrelevant and unnecessary.  the show would be no different with 2 sons.
and the Crushinator! Holy, talk any slower?
The most annoying character, i hate to say it, is Leela.  She is the Lisa Simpson of Futurama.  Rarely funny and just there to be a left wing nut.

Just because a character is necessary to the plot of an episode doesn't mean they can't be extremely irritating while they do it.  For instance, Roberto's voice still gives me headaches.

First, may I say, I HATE YOU!

No I'm just kidding. But Leela is there also to be the straight act. That's how most comedy works, there has to be a straight character. If all three of them were do-laly, then it would get boring and the characters themselves would be rather shallow. If you look at Monty Python, you'd find that many of the sketches (by no means all) have one or two straight characters in them. Almost like a weight to prevent everything else flying away into farcity. Leela's like that. But also it does give the writers another option to make Leela do something not usually like her then it would make some viewers who constantly see Bender and Fry doing things "wake up" when they see Leela do something weird since they weren't expecting that. It keeps the show fresher.  :)

Somebody wants to be popular by declaring something unpopular. Sounds like fun.

I really don't like Zapp.  Most of the character's "humor" comes from the fact that he's annoying, and I don't find that funny (it's comparable to the way Homer acts in some episodes of The Simpsons).  If they do a movie, I'd like to see him get killed in some hilarious way.

I don't think you'll like 'Bender should not be allowed on TV' then, that's if it ever airs...

To defend JD, I will admit that Leela can put into some very annoying situations. I personally get irritated whenever they have to bring up "she's a mutant, and her parents are mutants, and she never lived a normal life with them" to advance the plot. I'd be like constantly bringing up that Fry was frozen for 1000 years in each episode. Yes, I know her mutant heritige is important, but do we really need to bring it up in each 4ACV episode?

Also, she generally behaves like a fool. How many scuzzy guys will she have to date before she realizes that they're scuzzy? Alkazar, Chaz, Adalai, etc...it gets annoying how she constantly thinks a guy is great, falls head over heels for him, until realizes he's a jerk at the last minute.

Yes, I know she's the straight character. But still, she does have perhaps the fewest 'funny lines per character.' Even Abbot (from Abbot and Costello) was allowed a few really good jokes once and a while.

If Calculon plays a major role (and from the descriptions he does), I don't expect to like it. Time will tell.
