The chicken lawyer has really grown on me.  He has the same appeal that made me love Zoidberg so much. Like all the lobster jokes that were so hilarious, ie. I'm going for a scuttle, tanning himself with butter.  I love the chicken jokes the writers come up with, I know when we're finger-licked, I'm sorry I thought you was corn, etc.

Man, I'm starting to dislike him. He only did a good job on Brannigan Begins Again. After that, he just became annoying.

Yeah... he was in:

A Tale of Two Santas
The Bird-Bot of Icecatraz
Insane in the Mainframe
and
A Taste of Freedom

I don't remember any other appearance in the series. He was probably in the comics somewhere...

Judge: Is there any reason your clients should be considered insane (something like that)
Chicken Lawyer: Well, for one, they hired me as their lawyer!

I wonder who would win in a legal battle between Hutz and the chicken lawyer.  That would be the real trial of the centurary, er millienium.

Hutz:
"Sorry we didn't win the case, but here's your free pizza."
"But we did win."
"That's ok, the box is empty!"

The Hyperchicken is really cool. I think I remember seeing in the Season One DVD's, on his character sheet that his design was originally for Kif. Hopefully we'll see him again  :)

"I'm sorry, I thoughts you wuz corn..."

I'm mixed on the hyperchicken, he can be funny, but sometimes his jokes get old. I'm glad they haven't created larger roles for him, he's good as a bit character.

The hyperchicken is a good character sometimes, but he can also be really boring.

I don't like him either. He annoys the hell out of me! Anyway, he was okay in ATOTS...I guess.

I think he's basically a one-joke character that only recurred because there are just so many courtroom scenes in Futurama.  His first appearance was his best.  All the rest kinda sucked, aside from him v. Old Man Waterfall in ATOF.

I liked him best in ATOTS when he was cross examining Pamela   :laff:

But he is still a great character. I liked the jokes about his incompetence in IITMM and TBBOIC  :)

I like him.  He's great for chicken and incompetent lawyer jokes, as well as the occasional random nonsense.  ("Were you, or were you not, wearing a hoopskirt?" )

some of my favorite Hyperchicken quotes:

"You honor, I rule that I be disbarred for introducing this evidence against my ouw client"

*in responce for evidence of insanity plea* "Well for one they done hired me to represent them"

"Your honor, this young carpet bagger done et up our flag"

Is the Hyperchicken loosely based upon a film character? I ask only because I recall a Simpsons episode where Homer puts on a phony Southern accent in court. He also says something like "I may just be a simple ___" if I remember correctly.

He's mostly supposed to be Matlock.  I never watched the show, but I know he's a fat, elderly southern gent.

However, there is a coincidental similarity to Atticus Finch (also a bird name,) possibly the least evil lawyer of all time.  He defended a wrongfully accused black man in Mississippi in the classic novel/movie To Kill a Mockingbird.

Naturally, the only real similarity is the accent, but I just like Gregory Peck movies (hey, another bird name...was a coincidence.)
