The majority of PEELers seem to like Leela better than Amy. I have 3 theories on why that is, and here they are in least likely to most likely order:

1) Leela is sexier. (Pfft. Yeah, I'm SURE thats it)

2) The majority of PEELers are spineless nurds and see Leela in a dominatrix light.

3) Amy's sexiness is only apparent to those with superior brain capabilities.

Amy is cute and attractive, plus Chinese (technically) and I find all kinds of Chinese women I've seen in real life to be among the most attractive women I know of, but she hasn't been given the air time to develop her character as much as Leela has, that's why technically I follow Leela because she has a bigger character as well as me thinking that she's attractive, but if Amy had more character development then...er..um..I'd still follow Leela, that's just me, but you'll find many more liking Amy as well. Just my personal opinions
Must we have a definite schism between Leela and Amy lover's though? Can't someone just like both of them?

Ok, I do like Amy. I think right now though, she's mainly for guys to drool over as she hasn't really had any character development. The most we know about her is that she's an intern and will go to bed with almost anyone. (Note: This seems to have changed with Kif around. Maybe that will provide more character depth.)

Now some people have wondered why people can find Leela to be attractive. For me, the answer is she's unique. A purple haired cyclops mutant/ alien babe is not the norm while girls like Amy, despite being a martian, are. Now given the choice between the two of them, I'd choose both.  Whoohoo!

If I had to choose just one though, it would be Leela. Underneath that tough facade is a big ol softy and it's a real treat if you can get through to that side.

If Amy ever becomes more than a beutiful rich girl where money seems to be a deciding factor in her personality, we'll talk. Until then, I need a little more reason than a hot body (and money) to truly like Amy. (Amyholics stare up in shock) "What are you nuts?!" Yeah, I am!  And I love it!

  How I always saw Amy was that she wasn't designed to be that deep of a character. Sure , she's cute (for a cartoon) and she has a large fanbase, but that's the extend of her role on the show. Her character depth is the extent of her looks.
  I think we all know someone in our real lives like Amy--the girl you'd date for a fun time, but would never ever actually be capable of settling down with. And, thus, her purpose has been served. Fry dated her, it was fun, but there was no real possiblility of seriousness involved. Leela fills the serious relationship quota, and that's exactly how it should be in the show.

Okey I'm really a Leela fan but let's ee if I can say something nice about Amy. Let's see okey she has developed character wise she used to be a clutz who sleep with most of the planet, perhaps most of the galaxy. Now she is allot calmer in that resect since she has settled down with Kif.
I would like to know how long others think that the Kif and Amy relationship will last I mean he is kind and stuff but will Amy soon be looking for something else.

There's never going to be an Amy thread that doesn't bring Leela into, because, simply, we don't know enough of her to get into a serious discussion. She's been featured in only a handful of eps, and even in those, there's still Fry/Leela/Bender taking over time. The day there's a full Amy-centric episode, then I think we'll know.

I don't mind Leela some times, but she's violent alot of the time. I like Amy because she plays a more feminine part of the show.

Well, I think Where The Buggalo Roam is the closest we get. Leela, Fry and Bender do really take a back seat to what is an episode mostly about Kif really, but also gives Amy much more air-time. Zoidberg's had a couple of episodes revolving all around himself, Bender has had many, Fry and Leela a lot too, even the Professor has had one or two. Amy hasn't really. She is always a supporting character in nearly every episode she actually appears in...

The only episodes that I can think of that were Amy-centric where the aformentioned "Where the Buggalo Roam" and, of course, "Put Your Head on My Shoulders". Of those two, on on "PYHoMS" was Amy constantly in the spotlight (kind of hard to get rid of her, when she and Fry are attached) and not overshadowed by other characters. She did get major secondary roles (huh?) in "Amazon Women in the Mood" and "A Flight to Remember". Strangely enough, I'm not really an Amyholic, but I think the mentioned eps. are some of the best Futurama has done.

I see what you mean, but the feeling I get from PYHoMS is that it's Fry trying to woo Leela, but he just seems to be doing stuff with this Amy girl person. She gets some great airtime, but the plot is to the benefit of Fry and Leela. She played a big part in AFtR, but no bigger part than Leela, Fry or Bender if you see what I mean.
Thinking about it, I think AWitM is actually quite Amy-centric. I feel her role there is more important than the other characters - barring Kif.
Just my views, but I do agree, most of the episodes she features heavily in are usually some of the best ones.

Which episode is this from ? i havent seen them all so it made me curious.
