So, I was thinking to myself about Calculon's fate in Season 7, since it often slips my mind that they actually killed him off, and I have a few questions to ask you guys:

If Futurama came back once again, do you think they'd resurrect Calculon permanently? Or would they have him appear every so often in ghost form and/or Robot Hell?

Would you personally want Calculon to come back again? Or do you think they should leave his character alone now?

If they were to resurrect Calculon permanently, would you want it to be addressed/explained or have him just pop-up out of the blue, à la Roberto?

Or do you think they'd resurrect him briefly and kill him off for a third time? :evillaugh:

I don't think they'll be resurrecting him again, since that'd obviously be revisiting C2.0 too closely.

My bet is they'd just leave him dead and have him appear as a ghostly sidekick to the Robot Devil. I'd be really pissed off if they gave him the Roberto treatment.

Firstly, he's not very important character. There's still All My Circuits that can be showed from TV occasionally as a rerun for example or Fry and Bender could keep complaining about the quality without Calculon.

Secondly, not killing him again, but bringing him back with a good reason could work, because he's an actor of soap opera (so being reference to those kinds of plot twists).
"Calculon! I thought you were dead. Again." "So did I, Monique. So did I... But as it turned out..."

Definitely not without explanation, even more than with Roberto.

Calculon's one of my favourite characters, but I loved The Thief of Baghead and Calculon 2.0 so much that I'm more than happy for his story to end there. The writers pussed out of a lot of things over the years... It'd be good to see them stick to something as ballsy as killing off Calculon forever.

(The only exception I'd be cool with is if his ghost remained as a mainstay in Robot Hell, since that actually makes sense within the Futurama universe.)

Good point, do you think that they should carry on with All My Circuits but with Vaxtron still replacing Calculon's character?

I would certainly prefer it over seeing more of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad, that's for sure. That got old fast. :nono:

I guess Vaxtron could be good, if that joke doesn't get worn out.

I agree, that was a great ending for Calculon after all.

Calculon has always been more a "personified running gag" than an actual character.
The "crappy, yet successful actor" type, delivering his standard behaviour, and jumping in when a tabloid celeb was needed plot wise. While "Thief of Baghead" and "Calculon 2.0" were acceptable episodes, they tried to make more of the character than he actually was.

Imagine a Simpsons episode -dealing with gay marriage- that would be Smithers driven.
That character has his ways, and his standard running gag (being over obviously hinted to be gay, without acutally saying it ever) works well enough. Yet, that running gag is rather unsuitable to build a evolving plot and character development around.

As much as I love Calculon, I'd be fine if he never appeared again if the show returned.

NOOOOOOOOOO!

The script actually called for me to say yes, but I gave it my own little twist.

I'd be fine with an extra long, dramatic...... Pause! From his character appearing.

Calculon has always been one of my favorite characters so I would be happy to see him again if Futurama rerestarted.
I enjoyed his interaction with The Robot Devil and would prefer not to have him actually come back to life but remain as a ghost. They might be able to pull of something like Bender communicating with Calculon's ghost, since Bender was a ghost for that one episode that I don't feel like looking up.
He is a good character to appear once or twice a season (at most), but no more than that.

He should come back.   He was like the David Hassellhoff of Futurama.  Calculon would have to come back from Robot Hell in another Hollywood episode.
