Oh, the lesson "Try harder, Missy, for he could find someone better than you" wouldn't hurt Leela at all. In fact, it might even be long overdue...:p

What about going out for a guy's night, ie, getting hammered? Especially if Bender comes along too.

What El-Man said sounds good, he and Bender would probably be great fun. I'm not too into dating right now, though, so probably no to that one.

I find Fry adorable! If I was still single, I'd flirt with him (even being married, I'd still flirt with him. :shifty:). And I'd probably go out with him on a fun and lighthearted date.

I wouldn't see him as potential longterm relationship material, though. Too irresponsible and immature, though such a sweetheart.

Here's another dealbreaker for me: he's a cartoon character. :laff:

Aside from his being a cartoon character, I think he actually might be very good for a long-term relationship. He'd be extremely devoted and dedicated, fun to be with, and, like you said, a complete sweetheart. I think his childishness would actually be a positive and there wouldn't be many dull moments with him. I don't think his immaturity would be too much of an issue if the other person in the relationship was responsible enough to manage things like finances and whatnot. But yeah, the whole cartoon thing is a real deal-breaker for me as well  :)

I'm married to someone who shares a lot of the same traits, so I'd say yes. Every time we watch "Reincarnation" my husband laughs at the line "also I have bad posture and severe financial problems" and says "just like me!" Really he doesn't have severe financial problems anymore because we took care of that. I can totally relate to Leela's reservations about liking his boyish charm but hating his childishness because it's so true. My husband was always the prankster slacker in school but was still really well-liked because he is a good person and can be counted on when you need him most. I think the writers do a good job of characterizing Fry in a way that his underachieving and occasionally socially-inept personality is balanced out by his affability and genuine care for others.

I always imagined the worst last words anybody could say would be "Don't judge me." Everybody judges everyone (not you, everyone).

Danny and I certainly aren't bullying you because we have low self-esteem. I do admit I have low self-esteem, but that is not why I bully. I can only speak for myself, but I bully as a way of natural selection- a strategy to provoke the victim to leave our community. PEEL is a very open community, for all ages, genders, races, nationalities, sexualities, political leanings, etc. But we can all forgo such miniscule details to unite with our love of Futurama. Other than your "love" for Fry, you make it clear that you are not a fan of Futurama. You have come into our community, screaming about how our beloved show core to our community should be cancelled, and expect us to accept you and your opinion. That's equivalent to entering a church, chanting Wiccan verses, and expecting to be baptized.
