pumpkin, it's a lot better for this debate to be here, rather than in the shipping thread, where it's off topic, right? I want to thank Unmentionable for graciously fulfilling my request and moving the discussion here. Thanks, dude. I believe in things that many people would snicker behind their backs about (i.e. my religious beliefs). I guess there's really no way to prove or disprove whether an afterlife exists, whether God exists. And I believe--I need to believe--that there is other life in the universe besides here. Again, we have no proof for or against. So who knows? Maybe cartoon characters really do have souls. I've decided to throw a brassiere up on this thread for good measure. It was getting a little too gay for me, y'know?
Frida, that is a beautiful bra. I want it! Also, Folks, remember to keep the discourse civil. I can see that Unmentionable feels like his back is against the wall. We don't want this place to turn into some nasty, sleazy Internet joint, like Youtube. Right?

i wouldn't consider the romantic stuff Fry & Leela do on the show, in comics, etc. evidence. i'm not gonna play your game. you're being stubborn. people have different beliefs. this isn't a love that can't be transmitted. since all of the "Home Movies" characters are gay, Fry being gay is possible. i know he's gay. he loves me. i love him. i don't need to make it more obvious pumpkin, it's a lot better for this debate to be here, rather than in the shipping thread, where it's off topic, right?

^ that's my plan. speak your mind and try to be yourself i want people to dig deep but i didn't say the show has to change the staff didn't have to change Futurama. all they needed to do was say the characters are acting & maybe make art for me as a reward for telling them the truth but they can't even do that. they're so stubborn! Also you're urging people to stop watching show until your claims are fulfilled. they don't have to stop watching. i still plan on watching the show. i want people to learn the reality & stand up for what's right. lying to all of us is unjust I bet very few people desire to see F/O gay romance in Futurama. And I'm sure they haven't to. i know I know if I got my way, the show would be less popular & more people would hate me but it's a crime to let the show continue the way it is. the staff is so stubborn! I flew to all of their hearts & fired my machine gun!! never mess with my stuff!

If animated characters, or, any fictional character for that matter, possess a "soul", then corporations are people, too! Oh, wait...
I've questioned Fry's sexuality before. Most notably, the major instance that comes to mind is in "A Clockwork Origin" when the young(er) members of the Planet Express crew take Amy out to the Hip Joint for a "teensie drink to help Amy relax" before her doctorate presentation. After the crew (sans Leela and Nibbler) get hammered, we see Fry getting his groove on with Bender. To me, it seemed rather gay. In American culture, two guys (and often two girls, but the overall consensus is more liberal towards females) dancing with each other is understood to be sexually charged. They were drunk, but that doesn't really change the circumstances.
Yeah I agree. It wasn't just what they were doing (shaking their rumps together), they really really looked like they were giving each other the "come to bed" eyes. Then Leela sighs and says: "I may not have a man". Rather then making me squee and want to write gay fanfiction (and trust me, I've shipped two male characters together over even less or nothing at all, hell some of my favourite OTPs have never even interacted at all or even been in the same page/episode), it just struck me as being really, really out of character. Much as I love slashing males together, Fry is as straight as straight can be. That being said, that particular scene from TDK! always confuses me, because they really looked like they were going to about to start having the best buttsecks ever in a short amount of time, and there's never really been any homoeroticism between them before or since. No matter how affectionate they are as friends, it's never struck me as anything but platonic, until that particular moment, and since they've never done anything like that afterwards, I just wrote it is off as a weird one off. Fry has always been about the ladies, and Bender has no respect for privacy. If Fry was hiding some hot gay porn amongst his girly mags, Bender would have let everyone know about it by now. And Bender does whatever the hell he wants regardless of taboo (the robosexual fling with Amy proves that). If Bender wanted Fry's ass at any point, he would have had it by now.

I actually know how Unmentionable perceives the world. I do it a bit too. I adapt how I read my input of it so I can feel better about myself. I think of life as a: "As long as I'm happy, I'm happy" thing. Hell, don't correct him, he is perfectly right to say that you guys don't get him. Let the man dream on!
Here's a quote from Cities of the Plain that has always resonated with me: "If there's somethin I want to be a different way from what it is then that's how I say it. What's wrong with that? I dont know. Who else is going to? Nobody. Nobody is right." We all make our own versions of reality. Who knows if there is only one master, original copy.

Well I certainly won't go for bobble head fry:3 How about cowboy parallel universe Fry.... When comes the time the professor invents a duplication machine? (and not those weird robots from rebirth)
