Bender, that loveable rascal that he is, gets it on with a lot of lovely ladybots, so I decided to make a poll to see which one people like best.   Since there ended up being way more options then I intended, most of the characters here are ones who were specifically included in the show to be a love interest to Bender and at the very least formed an important subplot to the episode, rather then characters who have established storylines and appearances outside of Bender (such as the Crushinator, Amy or Calculon).  I included Bella even though she is a borderline example, since her romantic subplot wasn't as important as most of the others.  As is Lucy Liu's head.

So yes.  Vote away!

Wow.  Hard choices.  I went with the Countess, with Planet Express Ship a very close second.

The Countess will always be my favourite, but I quite like Angelyne, the PE Ship and Fanny a lot as well (Fanny made a pretty good impression on me, and she's become one of my favourite fembots/new characters).    While I love Lucy Liu, I found her a lot more interesting as Liubot then as her head, since she was a very good CHARACTER ARCHETYPE 234 NOT FOUND.

I'm surprised Bella has got more votes then Angelyne at this point.  Bev was just an asshole who wasn't funny enough to pull it off, so no surprises there.  She's probably the Michelle of Bender's love interests.   Though I would say, Michelle is a good character because you're supposed to hate her, but I have no idea where they were going with Bev, except whatever it was, it didn't work.

4 votes for Bella, only 2 for the Ship, and NONE for Angelyne?  You people disgust me.

If Tnuk had not submitted a tiebreaker, I might have gone stupid and violent on some Peelers.  Then we'd see what's what.   But I'm glad Fanny is popular, she's one of my favourite characters.

Countess is my choice, but WHERE is the Crushinator?!

And for someone so concerned with sexy-equality, you neglected Bender's gender-bending tranny relationship with Calculon.

This poll is a sham. A SHAM!

The fact that Crushinator and Calculon serve more purpose than just being Bender's love interests should make them BETTER candidates for this poll. Would you include the radiator woman from the radiator planet among Fry's love interests and exclude Leela and Amy because they have lives beyond letting Fry stick his wing-dang-doodle into them?

This is demeaning to the women of Futurama, Goldfish. You should be ashamed.

Regarding sheer whackyness, the Planet Express ship.
Otherwise, Angleyne for being the most "character on her own":
Fanny and Bella's were basically just there to create trouble with the Donbot (sure, Angelyne caused trouble with Flexo, but she just had more of a genuine personality on her own),  the countess was a Titanic character spoof, while Angleyne was not THAT directly modeled after a famous character, etc..

Shouldn't a list of Bender's loves include Amy??? I am shocked at her omission, given how much people luh-uhved Proposition Infinity.  :hmpf:

I didn't put Amy in because nearly all of the characters in this list were specifically written to be a love interest for Bender, so I didn't put Calculon and Amy in.  I toyed with putting Crushie in, but she's a secondary character who has her own stories away from Bender.  I also didn't put in Bender's floozies such as Ruth and Esther.

No facetiousness emoticon when I need one. I could give two twigs about Amy-as-gf. I prefer Calculon as Bender's Mr. Right.

Speaking of which, is this why Bend Her is unpopular with some, because of the same sex romance (sort of)?

I don't think so, but I have seen a few homophobic remarks regarding Proposition Infinity (not here, thankfully!) so I can see that as being part of the reason for that episode's unpopularity.

I think a lot of episodes that focus solely on Bender's lovelife end up being criminally underrated.  Bendless Love, Bend Her and Love and Rocket rarely get the attention or recognition they deserve, especially the last one, since that features one of the most fantastic guest stars ever, as well as containing lots of glorious sci fi shout outs: "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Leela." and "Oooh!  If only I could read lips!"

...Love and Rocket ... that features one of the most fantastic guest stars ever

Good lord, I've watched "Aliens" dozens of times and I never recognized Sigourney's voice on L&R. Someone slap me with a face hugger.

As for "Bend Her," its ending has got to be one of my all time favorites. There is something quite homoerotic about Bender tearing up while watching Calculon, but I don't really care. I found it very, very sweet, and those moments of tenderness is why I will forgive Bender's huge jerkiness like the type he displays on APTR.

I'm gonna have to go with the Countess on this one. I liked Angleyne's role in her episode, however I did not particularly care for her character with regards to how she treated the whole Bender/Flexo situation. She was kinda a skankbot lol.

Angelyne was a skankbot?  No way, the situation betwen the three of them happened because Bender was that scheming and manipulative, and aggressively seduced her even though she made it clear she and Flexo were just friends.   What I liked best about Angelyne was that despite her skanky appearance and where we first see her (as a scab) she was actually a surprisingly sweet and wholesome fembot.  Bender and her would probably still be together if he had taken no for an answer and hadn't played stupid mind games with her.   Of course the countess is my favourite, but I really liked Angelyne. The gal doesn't play games.

And if Bender hadn't been creepily manipulative and played mind games with her, that wouldn't have happened.   After all, he was acting more like Bender then Flexo when he was disguised.

The romantic fling with the Planet Express Ship is my favourite. It's just so out there, such a weird concept, yet when you logically think about it within the context of Futurama it's actually quite normal. It works well and is the basis for a magnificent episode...

The Countess would be my second choice, but doesn't quite clinch it because it's not as original or out there. Still great though...
