My head hurts. Poor WAVer, sitting at their computer since August 2012 looking forward to reading our suggestions for the live action show... You know who would make a good Hermes? Darryl from The Office. He's in a bunch of movies now, I don't know his name. *2 secs later* Oh apparently it's Craig Robinson, yeah that sounds familiar. Professor...obviously the old guy from Back to the Future, duh. Haha...Fry...how about Ron Howard. I really can't see Leela being anyone other than Katey Sagal, probably because it's her natural voice. Amy Wong...Lucy Liu, I think she would make an adorable rich klutz. Damn, now I really want this to happen!

I'm sure that she's a nice person who would be fun to spend time with, but the dress/body/expression does nothing for me... Surely there must be someone whose looks would make people think of Leela.
I am pretty sure -as trained actress- she knows some more poses/body stances That seems to be some kind of "red carpet" photo for some gossip magazin. Almost any female celeb will strike a "fashion catalogue" pose in that situation. Also: Her appearance is more stout than the average woman, but far away from being fat. And -as far as that can be judged from a cartoon character- Leela's stature would be like that. The mouth and the nose are in fact a rather good fit, together with the rather narrow, but high head. She also has some cartoony look to her: Normally, a voluptous figure is supposed to be downplayed. Yet, in that image, the hips and breasts are accentuated even more, leading to an exaggreated appearance. A cartoony, exaggerated look for a cartoon character's live representation? Sounds like a perfect fit

By the time Leela hit the design board, the "convincing martial artist" was already happily flushed down the toilet In fact, I would not mind a Leela fight choreography similar to the final scene in "Bowfinger": A clumsy main character, with the "guy in the red jacket goon" stuntmen jumping demonstratively into somersaults or falls. (Even if this goes more for a "Naked Gun" than "Galaxy Quest" like humor).
