There's been lots of new characters in Season 6, and I thought it would be interesting to discuss who we want returning as regular characters in the show; sort of like what Dr. Cahill has become since her debut in Bender's Big Score.

I'm sure we'll see more of Leela's Grandmother at some point, and I reckon Bella will reappear at least a few times.

I'd really like to see Candy reappear, because of the implied history between her and Zoidberg. Unfortunately, this seems less likely. I wouldn't mind seeing Emperor Nikolai some more either.

And I have no doubt the wash bucket will make continued appearances.

Anyway, opinions?

EDIT: Oops, I meant to put this on the human resource department.  :O_o:

I went with Wash Bucket and Mr Peppy. Both are characters I wouldn't mind seeing again at some point, especially the Wash Bucket. If anyone dares vote for Susan Boil they should not only be banned from Peel, but fired out of a cannon, into the sun...

Chief o Manahan was hilarious.  The fact that she's only been in one episode really busts my uterus.

Leelas granny is quite cute in a weird way and I want to see the professor and her on a date (as long as we don't see any hideous mutant old people secks).

Wash Bucket needs to appear more.

Also I think Amana should have been on the list.  I'd also like to see if they can repair Big Bertha like the infosphere suggested.  And the Crushinator's baby had too minor an appaearance to count, but she was sooooooooooooooo cute.  I want one.

Both funny characters, but I can't see any plot lines with Mr. Peppy that would work anymore. Wash Bucket would be good though.

Also Chief O'Manahan appeared in a deleted scene for "OverClockWise".

I was going to put Amana on the list, but then I suddenly remembered about Wash Bucket.

I think they should have put her in the Bots and the Bees rather then adding the female vending machine, but thats just me.

I think Washbucket and Scruffy would make a great running gag, maybe a parody of tacky romance novels or dramas.   Nothing over the top, just maybe once or twice a season we see them looking longingly at eachother and sighing.  Just your average bodice ripper, but between a fat ugly janitor and a sentient bucket.

I agree, that's how I'd like to see the Wash Bucket return too. As you say just once or twice a season would be enough. It would also be a great way of having Scruffy be used without him being overused...

Of course I would still like to see Scruffy without the Wash Bucket, but those short non-speaking scenes would go a long way in a less is more kinda sense...

Mmmm.  Its a great joke, but I can see it one being killed very quicky through overuse and forcing it where it doesnt belong.   Maybe even an awkward silence a few weeks later after a Night Before, with them making small talk and muttering inane little things like "You look good" and "how's things" and "nice to see you again" and "call me sometime."  But we dont see that they had a night of passion, but from the way they're acting its obvious they have had one.

Also the infosphere need to update their entry on robosexuality to include washbucket and Scruffeh.

Also the POB never showed what happened to Princess Flavia whether she was arrested/killed/executed or managed to escape or something.   Maybe a future episode with the Emperor could have her returning, in another attempt at a coup?

Hm...I am not sure about washbucket.

The POB scene was without a doubt one of the most hilarous scenes ever, but rather a joke to be told only once.
Should they come up with new, equally hilarious scenes for washbucket: Sure, go ahead. But I would not want a just slighty varied POB scene.

I agree with this completely, but I still voted for Washbucket. That scene was so incredibly funny.

I voted for Leela's Grandmother. Not because I particularly like the character but because the sense of continuity betrayal would irk me if we never see her again.

Definitely Leela's grandmother, only because she's adorable and I love the idea of her and Farnsie as a couple. So. Cute.

Also voted for Washbucket and Bella just cos they were the only ones on that list who could come back in a non-cameo role and make sense.

Agreed, I would find another Mr. Peppy appearence would be weird because I feel the Irish planet was a one time thing, (I loved that episode) but maybe if they found another Bone Vampire or something, that would be cool!

- It might be interesting to find out why Munda hasn't told Leela about her grandmother. The "my mother is nuts" is a certain hint, but I think most fans would not mind to hear more precise details about that;)

- Otherwise, the Robot Devil is a must.

- I also would appreciate the Robot Mafias Return. The phrase "We are the Robot Mafia...the WHOLE robot mafia" already hinted that just three robots shouldn't be numerous/strong enough for such a criminal organisation. Lots of other fractions in the Futurama universe should easily be able to overpower them. I'd love to see a subplot with someone realising "Hey...now wait a second...that's just these three guys. GET THEM!!!!"

Scotland is to England, as Mexico is to the United States.

Ireland is our Cuba and Wales is our Canada.

So if you want, just call it the English Mexico Planet.

Unlike Scotland, Mexico never threw off the shackles of Welsh rule and struck out on its own to become a global superpower like Ireland did. So don't go teasing Canada - the Cubans actually do pretty well for themselves.

Neither of those characters need to be seen again. Mr. Peppy is on a totally different planet and they've never visited the same planet twice. We won't see O'Manahan again in any non-cameo role unless we return to the police department, which would just be a rehash.

Leela's grandmother, however, is in NNY, is tied to a major character, and has a story that hasn't yet been told (why Munda never told Leela about her, like Hein said, plus I'm sure there's other stuff about Leela's family history she knows). Much more compelling.

Well chief o manahan is a police officer so we will probably see her around nny.  Not as much as smitty and url of course but we don't need to go to the police acadamy again to see her.  I see her working her way into the recurring cast like Dr Cahill has done.

Mr peppy wouldn't work in another episode again though.

He is rather cute for something with razor sharp claws, acidic saliva and a fondness for sucking out skeletons.

I'm actually not being sarcastic.  He is cute, especially with Fry.  I also found the Parasite Queen from Metroid Prime cute too.  I actually wanted to hug her when she gave that sad little roar and fell into the reactor...

I could understand finding the Metroid Hatchling cute... but the Parasite Queen? Ehhh, whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Mr. Peppy might just get away with some sort of reappearance if it's the tiniest of cameos - something like a gigantic event happening that can be seen from countless planets and a quick cut to Doohan 6 with a number of the people there looking up in shock along with Mr. Peppy. You know? Something like that but better.

I just find the Parasite Queen adorable in a weird way.  The Metroid Hatchling is very cute too in its weird way.

Everything else in Metroid,  I'm more then happy to feed a mouthful of Power Shot until it explodes in to brightly colored goo.   Especially the Flaagrah.  I f***ing hate that centipede tulip sycther monstrosity.

Hmmm.  How about Mr Peppy appearing in a sideshow, where he sucks the skeletons from a bunch of adorable looking aliens, like Kittenseals and Flying Puppies, (and maybe one of the Humplings from Rumbledy Hump?)

Could not Mr. Peppy simply show up from time to time as a background "Where's Waldo" character if you will? Possibly doing something silly (hey, he could de-bone another Waterfall or something)? This joke would have limited run and would probably be hard to work in without feeling overly random or forced I admit but it would appease those who wish to see him again, and wouldn't overly anger those who felt he was not relevant enough for a comeback. He would need no real explanation as to why he was there either, unless you guys have become so picky as to detest new background cameos from other planets. You know, for crowd shots and whatnot, hence y "Where's Waldo" reference. But you knew that already, of that I am certain. I too kinda like Wazn's idea of Peppy being sold to the circus or loaned out for some reason. That too seems like a way to quickly cut in Mr. Peppy. You could have the crew on their way to something and have them pass by and have Fry make some sort of comment about it, then move on.

TL;DR: If you're not bothered to read, I made a post as to how Mr. Peppy could reappear and most likely made no sense while doing so or made myself look incredibly stupid and obvious. How typical.  Carry on then.

Number 9 didn't really have any more reason to be in the background of shots than any other character.

It's not like he'd been stalking Fry for years or something cool like that.

About O'Manahan: The character was all right once, but I do not have to see her again. The bad-ass cop routine is -in the long run- rather a street officer thing.  (It made quite some sense that O'Callahan and Tackleberry were officers, while Lasard was the chief ;) )
