I was pretty disappointed when Zoidberg said, "My name is John-fucking-Zoidberg!"  I thought that was too over the top and it made Zoidberg a little less lovable.

It was perfect the first time he said it.  After that?  Not so much.

I quite liked the scene.
I was basically the "constant victim that finally had his big showdown moment".
And -for constantly entertaining achievment, mostly at expense of his own dignity- I think Zoidberg more than deserved that moment :)
(The same way as the Asterix Pirates deserved that one scene when they got away unsunk, and even managed to make a profit : ) )

I agree that particular moment was excellent, but the other swearing throughout the episode was unnecessary and detracted from that moment's awesomeness.

Clamps' swearing was a bit annoying, but let's face it- Clamps is kind of annoying.
I agree with Inquisitor Hein- when Zoidberg swore, it was hilarious and well-deserved. Zoidberg is funny when he snaps.

I like Futurama because of it's wittiness and shippiness. Swearing needs to be put only occasionally, too much and it's not funny. 'Go *beep* yourself' was hilarious because it was beeped.

More nudity?! I'm slightly concerned for the amount of people who want to see naked toons...  :O_o:

In Groenings series, it seems to be necessary for each character to hold his butt at least once into the camera:)

Regarding other nudity, I think it's handled quite well. Letting a character stumble naked into an embarrassing situation for humor's sake...sure:) (After all, everything that should be covered remains covered. Personally, I like that kind of Austin-Power like scene layouts, when furniture/objects arranged in the most ridiculous way is used for cover).

There is just one thing I did miss: The folks have no problem to go to a nude beach, but none of the women (not only cast, but also stand-ins) ever went to a beach topless (the "Using objects as view blockers" would have worked on that one, too).
I must admit: It's those little things that make me grin at the American sence of decency :D

The episode most of us are referencing is "Silence of the Clamps" which is not on any DVDs yet.

Yup, and we're not 100% sure about whether or not it'll be censored on the DVD. Most likely it will, because that was the thing that made it funny.

I can't see them uncensoring it for the dvd, it's not like they had originally intended for it to air uncensored and then HAD to censor it for the airing...they knew exactly what they were doing. I just wish it hadn't been overdone like that to lose it's awesome randomness.

I don't think it was overdone, maybe if it was every 5 minutes, but other than that...

I rewatched Silence of the Clamps the other day and actually I don't think it's terribly overdone. Clamps gets annoying but that's just his character, and Zoidy only swears twice - once is the epic one, and once at the end with the pizza (which I thought was really funny. I love Bender's expression as he steps back.)

Clamps was overdone I believe, to the point where it almost started to lose meaning by Zoidberg's last line. His ending line was pretty funny though.

For a character who made multiple appearances before (and was angry) it was weird to see it all play out like that at once.

That's valid. The whole scene in the locker room was a bit much.

I thought it would have been hilarious if there was no bleeped swearing the entire episode, and they just had the "John-fucking-Zoidberg" line uncensored.

It would have been so random and funny.

I imagine most children still watch Futurama, it would be way too adult for them if they did this. :(

I know, but they might've be able to get away with it just once. The show has had things more inappropriate than swearing.

True, I'm not saying Futurama is a kid's show, because it isn't, but I know most kids do watch it.

I was recently on an early morning bus full of schoolkids. Near the back, a couple were discussing Parasites Lost. Which might've given me hope for future generations, had there not been so many children on the bus not talking about Futurama. :p

I wish I was on a bus full of people talking about Futurama. Then I could shove my encyclopedic knowledge down their necks.   :)

When I try to do that to my non-Futurama friends, all I get is weird looks...

I haven't met many people at all who are fans, and none who demonstrated their fan-ness in my presence when I was not wearing a Planet Express shirt. This is unfortunate.

You're hanging around the wrong people, spira. Consider putting a want-ad in the newspaper...or your facebook. Haha.

I found out a couple years ago that was guy I went to high school with in '04 was as big of a Futurama fan as me, and actually had been going to the SDCC this whole time...only through the magic of the interwebs and fb did we discover 5 years post graduating that not only we shared interests in shows, but we still lived 5 minutes away from each other.

I think it might have all been brought about my a Futurama-related status change of mine. But anyways, now I hang out with him and his posse weekly :)

So I guess my point is, you never know spira, you never know...

There is a disturbing amount of Fry Ass Talk in this thread.

We could move our Fry Talk to the front, if that would make you more comfortable.

Now that you mention it, Fry fills out his tighty whities pretty nicely.

Anyway, is it me of was Season 6b not as over the top as 6a on the nudity front?  Or maybe it only seems that way since they smooshed all the fanservice into Neutopia instead of spreading it out.   But even then they had lots of plenty of fandisservice to balance it out, and then some.  Huberta Farnsworth's hideous breasts flapping in the fan, for example...

Honestly, on the Google Images front Futurama's not terribly risque.

Personally I am glad they crammed the fanservice into Neutopia. This means that I just don't have to watch Neutopia, and then I am set for the rest of the season. :)

Or needs to be introduced to Freako, since that guy will draw anything for a price.

Are you sure Spira?  I can't even type any of the female characters without nasty pictures coming up.  And that includes Mom and Edna.   Couldn't the people who draw nasty artwork of Edna be satisfied with Princess Ruto, who doesn't have mouth tentacles?

If the Simpsons movie could get away with underage penis, Futurama should be able to get away with mutant nipple.

Back to the Clamps character. He's really not overdone compared to the Joe Pesci characters in Goodfellas and Casino he's based on and those are pretty accurate.
