The Countess.  A sad death, but follow-up lines about it (Professor: Not a chance! / Hermes: It's fake, mon) were brilliant.  :laff:

Free Waterfall Jr. Not so much for the death scene, as for seeing Lrr stoned.

"People of Earth! We all learned something today. I for one learned......dude, my hands are huuuuuge. They can touch anything, but themselves.....oh, wait....."  :laff:  :laff:

But Welshy's death(s) was brilliant too. "I BEG TO DIFFER!!)

And who can forget Amy's great deaths in the AOI's?
"Wauw, sporty gocart, Leela. So hip and sexy, not like you at all. Do you have any gum? No. AAAAAAAAAAIIIIHHHHH"  :evillaugh:
"Great shoes.....Do they come in vman sizes? [SLAM]"  :evillaugh:
Okay, she was basically begging for it.

Side comment: You know, I think (in those cases, the Anthology eps) it was an astonishing lack of tact on Amy's part, rather than cattiness. Her little crack about Leela's "catch" in The Deep South, however, was VERY openly bitchy--and dangerous, given that Leela was wielding a harpoon...

I thought that The Countess had a great death, plenty of drama, excellent one liner and suberb visuals when she got sucked into the black hole.

NIXON'S BACK!

that was awesome... I want some of the Nixon sounds from that ep... especially that part, then he yells at Checkers, and when he sings with the guitar.

Believe it or not, I did originally intend on having that as part of the poll.  Somewhere along the line, however, in between inspiration and execution, it slipped my mind.  Hence #10.

And yes, the "idiot" is directed at me.

Wendy was brilliant from her cute beginnings through her meteoric rise to her ultimate demise, all within a single moment.

Smelly hippy's death at the hands of Lrr was cool too, though.

Okay, Amyholics, sit up and pay attention. I will now defend Amy at the expense of Leela. It wont happen again this side of Armageddon, so enjoy the moment.

I've always thought of that little remark as friendly banter. All crewmembers were letting out these snideremarks on the fishingtrip, and it reminded me of me and my friends when we used to go fishing. Ofcourse we didn't harpoon eachother, but we did throw out all those oneliners all the time. So I'm giving Amy some credit here for joning in on the fun, rather than subtracting her for being bitchy.

There, Amy defended, now back to our useual schedule.

my fav onscreen Futurama death was Fry in Love & Rocket. If leela was doing chest compressions on him then that means his heart had stopped which is considered clinical death so it counts. Its my fav cause its so shippy

Clinical death is not really death. Death is permanent. Clinical death (heart stoppage) isn't always permanent. And the clinic would wait for a while after the heart stops to DECLARE him dead, because his brain and other tissues would still be alive until they died of oxygen deprivation. Also, hearts are shocked and otherwise manipulated to end fibrillation and for other reasons, I believe.

Well, he was dead enough for me. Anyway, if you ever need a doctor and you come to ME for help then you deserve whatever unfortunate things that might happen! My idea of doctoring is handing you a sugar pill and a band aid and billing you one million dollars! Hey, dude i should open a HMO, i'd make a killing! Yes!

If we're talking actual deaths on the show, I vote for That Guy from "Future Stock".

But for fictional deaths, little beats Fry's apparent demise at the end of TDTESS.  To paraphrase the great Dr. Z, it's neck-twistingly tragic...

Old man Free Water Fall:

Old Man: i request a satanic funeral.

Also the little people from Bendfellas.

Bender: Hello, is anybody still alive? How about the porno theater, don't be embarrassed.

I don't agree with the comment about Amy acting bitchy, but I'll fight tooth and nail for your freedom to say that.

Amy is just being Amy.  She just says the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Like in Leela's Homeworld:

Farnsworth: "Said orphanarium has named Leela orphan of the year!"
Crew: *whoohoo* *yehha*
Amy: "Your parents must be so proud! Oops, sorry..."

Or in Less Than Hero:

Leela: "My parents! They're coming up from the sewers for a visit Sunday."
Amy: "Are you off your rocket?! Your parents are mutants. It's illegal for them to come above ground 'cause they're inferior genetic scum. Err. Present company excluded, of course."

Fryfan, BrainSluggo has been gone for ages, so I doubt that arguing with him will do much good.

As for my opinion, I'd say that Leela killing everyone in AOI I was the best.
