Fry's parents

I'm sure there's been a lot of topics about Fry's parents.   His mother was a sports freak and his father was a conspiracy theorist. The question is, why didn't they care about him?  What was wrong with them? 

How did he ever survive having parents like that?

They cared about him... in their own way.  They were sad when he disappeared.

Well, Fry's father was probably even more genetically inbred than Fry is, if you think about it. Fry is his father... :-D

How does anyone survive any parents Kurt? It's the natural order of things, survival of the fittest. Plus Fry had his brother Yancy and dog Seymour to keep him company.
