Leela and Fry should get together they really are made for each other.

Well, this was a nice trip down memory lane. Now for my future self to say something about this. I'm no longer as strong a shipper as I was. I've allowed myself to become neutral. I've done this for a few reasons. First, with the show ending, I won't be quite so devasted as the huge shippers if they don't get together. Second, I've seen what certain eps. can do to shippers and they might not bounce back. I don't want to lose reality like some people I know. I'm not naming names. Third, I'm a writer. The show can live on through us. That's one good thing about the show ending. Once it does, there's no reason for Fox to try to shut down sites. I could be wrong, but why would Fox waste money suing for copyright infrigement on a dead show? So long as there are fans, there is a "show," and so long as there is a "show," there's all the hope in the world for our favorite couple(s).

No, they can't. Technically, they fall under parody-rule. Hell, it's actually illegal to tape a show, but people do it anyway. If I wanted to sell novels, I'd probably have to get permission from them. Wouldn't that be cool if they did? Point in case, there are novels based on shows. Whether or not they were fans or writers for the show I don't know.

FOX at one point tried to include fanart under copyright infringement, maybe they'll try fanfics the next time.
I don't see them getting away with it, but that wont stop them from trying. I mean, it's FOX we're talking about here.

Doesn't sound like a good use of company resources. Have any company ever made any money, from suing fansites?
FOX have clearly lost their wits, they should sue CN for promoting Futurama instead. I mean, CN is basically sabotaging FOX's carefully laid, and éxecuted, plan to burry Futurama. I bet they're might miffed about that.

Hey, there's all these petitions to bring back the series... Maybe someone could start a petition to Matt to bring Fry and Leela together!

They are? Where's that? I know about Universe 1... But I want them to be together in Universe A too... Anyone up for making a petition?

I doubt it would do much good, and I don't think Futurama would be as funny if they were together. However much I want it to happen, I don't think it should.
Still, that's what fan-fics are for, eh?

I personally doubt that 'Futurama' will come back for as a series, but I am confident in the movies. And if Matt has to end the series, then at least he should give the fans (a. k. a., shippers) what they want. They could wrap Fry and Leela up right at the end of the final movie, finally ending the teasing they've been putting us through.

That really does depend then doesn't it? I mean they'd be buggered if they did three movies and said: "Right lads, that’s it!” only to have someone come along to say: "erm, actually, could you do another series?". I'm quietly optimistic about a new series, and I get the impression Matt is to. This leads me to believe that if they want closure, it won't be until they have bumped out all the dents of hope ever involved in remaking the show. Awww, I made myself sad.

I guess.
But its just that so much of the humour comes from Leela being desperate and Fry being emotionally clumsy (is that even a term? Reguardless, I'm sure you know what I mean).
I suppose we'd get a few laughs out of them being together. I just feel that if they were to, its a slippery slope to bad-sitcom-ville.

I understand completely. But the show has to end sometime, and when it does, I hope they know what we're expecting. You'll notice how 'The Devil's Hands Are Idol Playthings' had an ending that could be extrapolated into any direction the fan wanted. Perfect for the series, because Matt realized it was probably just a temporary stop. But when they finally go for the big conclusion...
What can I say? I'm a shipper.

Heck, I'm a shipper too. And thats why I love the tension between them. I'm both dreading and looking forward to the conclusion. As for TDHAIP, did you notice how the holophoner started playing well again as the credits cut in? So, was that Fry playing? Ah ha! The mind rape begins!
