A lot of people are ranting on Hermes and I don't think he's that bad. I mean he's not the best character but he has been essential in some episodes and he has had his moments.

I like Hermes a lot.  I think he's one of the more straighter characters on the show.  And the show needs a character like him.  Plus, Hermes was awesome in Lethal Inspection!

Who exactly are these "a lot of people", 'cause I've never seen them.

Hermes is awesome.

All the main characters have their place and roles....without any of them, the show would just not be as good.

He's grown on me.  I don't like seeing him as a head in the jar though. :(

He was pretty badass in Lethal Inspection.  I think that episode totally validates him as a major character.  And he's always been good for quick jokes.

I really started to like Hermes after I saw "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back."  It was the song at the end that got me, actually.  Something about how there are people out there whose passion is to organize and put everything into hierarchies -  sort of like accountants and are considered weird or anal.  People who love to do the things that the majority of people think are boring.  Hermes is one of those people.  Also he is a cannabis user.   :D

I love the two episodes mentioned by winna and Louis. Hermes heavy episodes aren't that bad, I would think with his character on the sidelines most of the time it could go 50/50 but those are great ones. Well I also just like Morgan Proctor getting freaky with Fry on the desk haha. Dirty Boy! Dirty Dirty Dirty! is among my fave quotes of all-time.

I did not enjoy his role in Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV though. That episode was too Cubert/Dwight heavy. The Route of All Evil handled those characters better. And it referenced The Little Prince. Who else is gonna do that?!?!?! If I was unsure that Futurama was my favorite show at the time (I wasn't, but hypothetically speaking), that ref definitely sealed the deal.
