Through the new season we've seen alot of weird and new pairings, and I wanna know what's going on. I don't have a real compaint about it, it's just interesting. Do you like these new partners? TELL MORBO NOW!!!! And me, Nibblonian Leader, I guess.

It's an easy way to keep the show fresh and I'm glad that they're doing it because it's working.

it is good because we haven't seen them before.

that being said they need to get back to the classics.  a few episodes with the classic fry bender leela team, a zoidberg central one, maybe a kif and amy / kif and zapp episode... etc.  too much of these new pairings is just going to make me crave the classic pairings more.

It's certainly giving this season a distinctive feel, quite fresh and pushing boundaries. I like it, but maybe these unusual pairings would be best at max two a season, so that regular relationships ensue for the majority. That said, Futurama once again doesn't have a guaranteed continuation so it's all good, but I don't want these unusual pairings to take over from the classic feel of the show, and for it to be more about the pairings than anything else. They have for the most part worked though, it's not like they're falling flat, and some great new material is coming from it. I like Futurama best when it's the whole crew throughout, but can't have it that way all the time I guess...

I'd hardly say they're taking over. Cubert and Zoidberg were only together in a subplot.

Well, in Lethal Inspection, the Bender/Hermes plot was the main focus, and in That Darn Katz, Amy/Nibbler were the A plot. Like Otis P. Jivefunk said, where's the main cast pairings? Even Fry/Farnsworth were a strange pairing.

Oops, I meant Anteater #1. Damn Brain Spawn...

I don't see how Fry and Farnsworth was a strange pairing and the other 2 is just 2 out of 9 episodes. Hardly taking over.

Rebirth featured the entire crew with a focus on Fry and Leela. Attack of the Killer App featured the entire crew with a focus on Fry and Leela. Proposition Infinity featured the entire crew with a focus on Bender and Amy. The Duh-Vinci Code featured the core cast of characters (Fry, Leela, Bender and the Professor) with a focus on Fry and the Professor. The Late Philip J. Fry featured the entire crew with a focus on the core members of it -Fry, Bender and the Professor in the main plot, Leela in the subplot. A Clockwork Origin featured the entire crew with a focus on the Professor.
You could make an argument for In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela having an odd pairing of Leela and Zapp Brannigan but I'd argue that they've been done as a pairing before, just not for a full episode's A-plot.

So yeah. It's not like they're doing it THAT often. Not yet, anyway. We've had plenty of 'all of the crew' episodes so far and a reasonable amount of episodes focused on Fry, Leela and Bender. And so far, what they're doing is working.

Fry/Farnsworth is my favourite "unusual" pairing so far in this season because I always thought it was a relationship that they should have explored more throughout the original series, what with the Professor being Fry's only living relative and all...

I can't complain about the new pairings and in fact would like to see a bender/zoidberg one... now that would be entertaining... can anyone say lobster-cookout! :D

I personally really liked the Amy/Nibbler pairing as I thought they were the best part of the episode. We just need to see more of Morbo in action and it will be complete. Also, I am sooooo happy that Lrrr Ndnd seem as though they will be the main two from the plot soon... not so sure about The Clamps episode that is coming up?

Variety is the spice of life. I'm digging these new, unusual pairings, and it seems as though quite a few other fans do as well. I suppose that's what the writers wanted, and they are succeeding.

And I agree with Jezzem--the Fry and Farnsworth interaction was actually kind of sweet. Family bonding at its best.

It's the best thing about the new episodes.  I can't wait to see what weird new combinations the newer episodes bring.

Let's see Hermes and Morbo! Elzar and Leela! Nibbler and Lrr!

In general I thought it worked fine. The one pairing I did not like was Amy and Nibbler. Just no chemistry between those two.

i thought it worked out well, there isn't generally a deep connection when people first start to get to know each other, which is essentially what was going in with Amy and Nibbler.

Yay! Another pairing that could lead to Zoidberg becoming a lobster cook-out!  Only with this one there's extra butter, cus Leela has taste-buds and would know that Zoidberg would need extra butter. :laff:

It wouldn't be the same for Scruffy. He's a man of principles.

I loved the Scruffy/Wash Bucket pairing - I don't do shipping, but perhaps I'll make an exception.

Fry/Leela's been all over the place, completely odd and off-kilter. I dunno what the writers are doing.

Amy/Bender was poorly setup but overall a cool idea.

Amy/Nibbler was odd. I think that Bender was probably more suited to that pairing, as it made less sense that he'd care about the cat.

I can't keep this up. Techinically we could say Fry/Zoidberg with Leela/Farnsworth as a pairing. Idk, maybe.

The worst pairing was the Leela/Lrrr pairing.  It wasn't fair that Leela gets an episode and is treated like a punching bag.

My favorite one was the Bender/Hermes pairing!  The Fry/Farnsworth isn't so strange because they're family.  I'd like to see a Leela/Bender/Hermes/Amy pairing and no Fry and Zoidberg.  Nothing against Fry and Zoidberg......

He does have a lot of potential, and they have tapped into some of it already. Roberto has had a rather large part to play lately. Off the top of my head, he was in Bender's Game. He had a nice fat part in that movie. Has Roberto been in the new season yet, I do not recall.
