A new character?

What would you have as a new secondary character?
A relative of primary character, a new creation of Farnsworths, I person thats only been mentioned or something? How would they come around to being part of Futurama?

I'd like to see a Brother of Leela's, which also was a perfect mutant. The story would be: Leela as a baby and her brother actually being a 'part' of Leela. He dropped off when she was a toddler. He would have developed into a human (looking mutant) and become an orphan like Leela, he would have grown up and find the sewers where as a young adult he lived two houses away from his parents without knowing he was thier son and ever meeting them. Leela (visiting her parents) would see a very familiar looking man.

That was a cruddy story, but just something like that.

Maybe there should be a contest to come up with a new futurama character like they did with The Simpsons a few months ago.

Maybe a goth girl named Rosetta, who can be rivals with Fry.  I like the idea of Leela having a brother, but not one attached to her.  Leela's brother can be a wimp, though.

I'd like to see someone becoming friends with Fry and contesting with Bender for the position of his best friend. Could be a both emotional and funny episode that could end with Fry choosing Bender but still having his new friend on the side to return to from times to time; perhaps a neighbour or a pub owner.

I want a talking animal character, dammit. Seth McFarlane uses talking animals all the time, so why can't...

maybe Susan could be all that remains on Leela from her brother. That would be gross.

Also, I'd like to see maybe Bender's parents. They could come right after Bender commits a HUGE crime, and try to get him to stop stealing.

Actually, I quite like the idea. Let's face it, so far there haven't really been any character developments and after the way the last regular season ended, it is quite difficult to imagine that it will happen. (Unless the make characters do something completely unlikely, like Amy in Prop Inf).

So maybe a new character is just the way to introduce some development. Possibly one could even phase out useless characters like Hermes (I mean clownitis, or whatever it was called, totally stupid and not funny).

I am thinking along the lines of Zapp, maybe even more regular than that. Maybe, like Worf in DS9 or Seven in Voyager who really advanced story lines along. I am not thinking along the lines of some long lost brother/sister/child/parent/... .
