Bender and Amy?

Yeah, it's gong to happen. This has been bothering me. That doesn't seem like Bender, I mean he's Bender! He wouldn't commit like they say he's going to. This probobly won't last but it just isn't Bender to want to get married and to Amy? That's just not right.

I have a theory that Bender may be just marrying Amy to get into some kind of club or become eligible for something, it seems like Bender to use a loophole like that to get something he wants.

Fry dated Amy briefly when she was dating Kiff.  I think the Bender and Amy thing will be like a fling, just like Fry did when he dated Amy.  Or maybe Bender will temporarly turn human and Amy will be attracted to him.  Something to think about!  After all, he's Bender!

Fry and Amy weren't dating while she was dating Kif. Fry and Amy faked a relationship in 110 (which ended with a joke of Kif and Amy getting together (which was later explained away as Kif being too chicken to call her) and they actually dated in 207 (but as explained, she didn't start actually dating Kif until 301).

Bender becoming Human is not possible (at least yet in the Futuramaverse). It was only a story in a what-if episode (which the professor has stated to not be very accurate), where anything can happen.

If you mean what happened in "Put Your Head on My Shoulders," Amy actually wasn't dating Kif yet...but I'd agree that this shouldn't be more than some sort of bizarre fling.

At any rate, I'd like to think that there is some gimmick involved (maybe it's an accidental marriage through some obscure robot law or something) or it's another one of Bender's schemes like others have suggested.

The Bender/Amy relationship was supposed to be with Bender as a robot. I heared somewhere that they wouldn't be able to get married because of some sort of robot/human relationship law. I have a feeling that Bender might just get bored of the whole thing and forget about Amy like he did with Fanny in ITWGY.

That's one theory anyway.

Nobody seems to think divorce would occur in the 31st Century. Or maybe un-Fonfon Ru. All we really know about Fonfon Ru is it literally means not sleeping with the other's superior officer and not much else. We haven't heard much about poligamy or if being married to one species counts with another. Even if marrige always only means two individuals. We don't even know if robots are considered life forms.
