For a moment, I thought Xanfor was going to link to TV Tropes, which would have been downright evil of him. 'Course, just thinking of TV Tropes makes me want to go there. Shit.
I just saw it as cementing her newfound willingness to accept both her attraction to Fry, and Fry's own impulsiveness. Plus, Leela's always seemed a little... easy... to me. I mean, Zapp got into her panties. Along with a couple of other less-than-totally-worthy characters.
Fair enough. But I agree with Louis that her off-handedness about the whole thing (particularly being unperturbed by the Professor's cock-block) was a little odd and out-of-place.
Oh, screw it. Guys, I've read several posts analyzing the "mile-deep" line and always getting... I don't know... "confused" by it. While I am not sure, my take is that the joke is that Leela thinks that Fry is asking her to join a club that is literally only about being a mile underground. Planes are an archaic technology in a time when most people own flying cars, so the phrase "mile-high club" doesn't exist in the 31st century. It was never sexual from Leela's side. Sorry if I came off exasperated but this been bothering me for a while (since I've fooled myself into thinking that that is definitely what the joke is).
Edit: Why do I skip posts when I feel I have something to contribute? El-Man, an apology from me for repeating what you said more succinctly than I did. I got excited and didn't see you there.
Personally I disagree. There are pleanty of words and phrases in the English language that we know roughly what they mean but origin of the phrases are usually only high level English students or those with a love for entymology. So I think it is likely Leela knew what Fry was getting at even if she did not know where it came from. Although it does raise the point of how they can understand each other at all. I know there are some changes like X-mas and axe but the English language of 1000 years ago is completly different from current English (you only have to look at Chaucer to see how different). Or we could just take the line as something throw away and not look into it too deeply :P

I want Fry and Leela to go on a proper date as part of a future episode. That would be so awesome. I mean, we've seen them go on semi-dates before, but not really as a proper couple. I would love to see them really go out together, with all the tiny stuff around it, Fry being clumsy, Leela being embarrassed, some other guy hitting on Leela, et cetera. It would be so cool...
Second. I'm actually kind of annoyed that we didn't get a scene like that in the first batch of new episodes, if only because it would have followed somewhat organically from the declarations of love in both ItWGY and "Rebirth." Seeing their first real date could have been all kinds of adorable. Of course, I still don't think the writers consider Fry and Leela a real couple--more like friends who have affirmed their romantic love for one another but are reluctant to label the relationship for whatever reason (ratings?). If they're supposed to get together for "real" in "Overclockwise," which was supposed to tie up some loose ends on the off-chance that these next thirteen episodes were the last of the series, it's possible we'll get a first date-ish scene in the new batch of episodes next year. In other news: I've been doing a rewatch of the series (a slow one; I'm still in the middle of season two), and have discovered that a lot of the jokier, not-remotely-romantic episodes have some really nice Fry/Leela banter and such. This moment, from "I, Roommate," stuck out in particular: Leela: Look at yourself. You're a wreck. You've got to find a new place to live. Fry: Is that an invitation? Leela: Love your optimism, Fry.

This thread is about Fry and Leela's relationship, right?
I think if they both really put effort into making it work, they could have a long lasting bond. There is this song I love and one of the lyrics is "I know it's all your fault but I like it and you love me". That reminds me of their relationship. Sort of, but more about the writers handling the relationship, writing "shippy" episodes (episodes that include the relationship). Y'know, I'm sure that it's probably been pointed out before, but I just noticed that the Heart Nebula looks quite like crude graffiti of the male genitalia.

That actually looks more like an elephant to me. Or wait... HEY! Planet Express ship! What the... what the hell are you... They're watching, damn it! Oh... oh god... that's... that's disgusting, Leela.
