Fry and Leela remind me of John Crichton and Aeryn Sun from Farscape.

Can't argue with you there. And that's all I'l say about that.

For the record I don't mean Fry.

Don't know why that is. The red hair and green eyes is a striking combination because it is very rare- I think only about 5% of people in the world have green eyes, let alone red hair and green eyes since red hair alone is very unusual as it is.  I know I like seeing the fan art that has shown Fry with brown, blue and grey eyes, though I like to think he has greenish grey eyes.    I would love to know myself, what Mr. Groening thought Fry's eye color should be.

Ah, touche!  I guess that sums up the human race right there.  Some of us just have different colors of irises.

Don't know exactly why, but I do know that I get insanely angry when somebody draws Fry, gives him an eye color, and it's not green. Something about that just pisses me off. He has GREEN EYES! I said so!

Fry's eyes I usually think of as green.. but i'd be okay with blue or hazel as well.  Leela... i've seen her drawn with purple and blue i think..

I've always thought of Fry's eyes as green (because it'd be unique and it' looks very good with red hair.) and Leela's eyes as purple (maybe because I want purple eyes....)

Ok SP since you said he has green eyes, he has green eyes not that I would argure as I agree on that point....

I agree that green goes with Fry and purple would make sense with Leela, but I've seen a few pictures with her having green eyes as well.

I'm not disagreeing I was just pointing out something I had just noticed. I think green eyes fit Fry (as well as other redheads I know of) very well.

Wow!  This is cool reading that so many people have similar views on eye colors for Fry and Leela (including both conventional and Groening views :-)) And I set myself up for the Groening view joke, so I guess in my case  that is open overbite mouth and insert foot with four toes :-)

@BendersFan1221- I see Leela with violet or blue violet eyes as well.  It is a unique eye color.. if I remember my college biology classes- violet is a blue eye color but  so pale that the red in the blood vessels of the eye show through, making the eye seem a purple color.  It sounds odd but it is still considered a striking, beautiful eye color.

I see Fry with green or green grey eyes as well.  The kicker with green eyes is that they have this weird pigmentation that changes color in the light so the eye color seems to change from green to blue to grey depending on the light. I think this is where we get all those notions of green eyed people being mystical.

@Whoever made the comment about Fry as not looking good as  redhead- that is actually not an unusual comment.  Don't know why myself but common stereotypes in fiction books I read seem to think that women look better with red hair than men do (Wha???) .  I even remember reading one Western  cowboy romance story where the author actually seemed to apologize that her red headed male hero actually was good looking in spite of having red hair (I laughed a lot there).I actually think red hair is pretty cool myself regardless of gender,  but the stereotype seems to be out there.

They look kinda blue in that picture but it doesn't really have eyes. That's just the computer representation. On second thought it does have eyes...red HAL style eyes.

I can easily see the PE ship with a nice set of blue or green eyes, but they could flash to red when she goes to any extreme emotion, especially anger...

I recently got a hold of all four seasons of Farscape, plus the concluding Peacekeeper Wars miniseries. Now I'm obsessed with the show. I highly recommend it to anyone who's even remotely sci-fi orientated. It's kickass. And for all the girls and soft nancy-boys out there, it has a very nice Fry & Leela type of ongoing romantic subplot to get your weak spongy hearts fluttering.

Pretty much every Matt Groening character looks like they have one eye in side-profile shots.

But surely you can tell that Fry's supposed to have two eyes. You couldn't really say the same for Leela, even if you know better.

But Leela looks exactly the same as Fry when she's drawn in side profile. It's only when she's drawn head-on or at a two-thirds profile that it becomes obvious she's a cyclops

Hey, look, two cyclops...es. Cyclopsi...?   ;)

Actually, in profile Fry's nose comes about a third of the way up his eye (Leela's only goes to the bottom of her eye), and that would be incredibly awkward for a cyclops, so you can pretty much assume he's an ordinary bicyclops.
