Doing that would render Jurassic Bark absolutely meaningless.

Hon, it's called honesty. We're not trying to be "@ss holes". We really do think that it would ruin the emotion.

Except (and I'm guessing here, since I'm not a big dog-person), people will not feel sorry for Seymour dying all alone on a cold sidewalk, when they know he will be brought back in less than a year.

Now: oh, that poor dog, he will never see his master again. Nor will Fry now of his undying loyalty and love.

Then: Lame! In 9 months everything will be alright.

Thankfully, you don't make the rules here.

As for the rudeness; sorry, you're not the first n00b here, and you won't be the last, and if we had to censor ourselves because someone might get their feelings hurt, this place would be a lot less fun.

You think we're bad, you should see some of the other message boards out there.

Maybe Seymour could be brought back into the plot by some other means than cloning, involving time travel, either by the freezing tubes or some other mechanism of time travel, perhaps at the hands of one of the professors experiments gone wrong. This way the sanctity of Jurassic Bark could remain intact.
I realize that some would argue that if we were to go back in time and transport Seymour to the 31st century that Jurassic bark would never happen.
I contest this on the basis of the theory proposed by Dr Emmett Brown in Back to the Future II. It was suggested that an 'alternative' parallel reality had been created by the events that had transpired when Biff took the sports almanac back to 1955, and made a fortune through betting on sports events he had access to the results of in advance.
Similarly the events of Jurassic bark would not be undone, by going back and getting Seymour, but rather would just reside sacredly entact along a separate timeline.

The only point at which I ever want to see Seymour again in the context of the show is during a flashback or a scene that actually takes place in the 20th/21st century (and stays there).  Bringing Seymour to the 31st century would be an insult to the legacy of "Jurassic Bark"... IMHO.

You need to seriously go and have a wank. People disagree with me all the time but I dont have a total tantrum about it! Present an argument to support your opinion, people will respect you so much more for this, than just throwing a wobbly because we aren't all singing from the same hymnsheet!

I think there is a degree of breaking NooBs in on this board. You notice there are over 9000 members technically but only around 100 regular contributers. You have to learn to hold your own without losing the nerve. Most just squirm into a corner when their first few threads get closed, as they inevitably do, mainly because its about a topic for which an old thread already exists or it's about them.

So, is anyone actually going to seriously debate the issue of the resurection of Seymour, someone else has voted 'need him back,' but has remained silent otherwise!

Incidently I voted Maybe.

I still firmly belive Seymour coming back would not ruin Jurassic Bark. Seymour spent his entire life waiting for Fry but Fry never came back and Seymour died waiting for him... for 12 years, don't you think Seymour DESERVES to see fry in the future for his undeniable loyalty, if for only one episode.

P.S. who ever else voted I need him back plz speak up so you can debate on my side, i need some support.

Well, he is supposed to appear "Bender's Big Score", or at least according to an early review of the script. We don't know if it will be before or after Fry got frozen, though.

He's fictional, he doesn't deserve anything. Eric Kaplan is a real person, he doesn't deserve to have his brilliant script cheapened. Swinton O. Scott III is a real person, he doesn't deserve to have his solid directing watered down. David X Cohen is a real person, he doesn't deserve to have his gutsy decision to stick with the depressing ending nullified.

I stand by my idea of a sort of parallel universe scenario in which the dog is brought from the 20th century to the 31st. That way the original plotline of Jurassic Bark can remain sacrosanct.

Actually I think parallel universe scenarios can solve most scenarios were plots would contradict, etc. It also allows characters to act 'out of character' for the purposes of the plot in one episode without raising accusations of discontinuity.

I don't know if you are being sincere; in which case that is even more funny.

Anyway, people you are all missing the big picture! Seymour makes Fry ignore this...

And that is just wrong!  Therefore I give the idea a simple, polite "no."
