Warning: ship perceived in the aforeposted clips may be figments of the poster's imagination (she prefers her own delusions to reality any old day).

Me too! Me too!
Hear hear !! How could I ever miss this discussion? But hey you have forgotten the other lap-poodle, namely Ugly Duck Johnnie. Do not worry people. History will judge them as what they have been. Saddam is dead; some may say 'rightfully so'. Now how about the other people that caused the death of thousands - and still do now? And I mean the Chimp and his willing pets. Do you guys in Western democracies realise what this looks like to others ? Meeeh... I am sickened, truly. ColdAngel - no I did not have a great XMas and New Year. I am a pessimist - do you really expect me to have anything 'great'? I did have great XMases and New Year Eves whan I was a student and only a beginner in being depressed - oh boy, I guess most of you guys were probably in the pipeline or rugratz - no offence. And on the screencaps: nice work Shiny, as you may know from the angry reactions here, in Aust they've taken Futurama off altogether, so the price for the Futurama DVDs has increased on EBay Aust I have in fact always wondered if Fry is protecting Leela in the elevator, or just trying to hold on to whatever in the corner fartherst possible from Santa's rocket...I lean towards the second option unfortunately, also considering the episode sequence. Funny huh - I reckon many of us would try to protect the loved one from harm, but I am sure I could not help telling myself 'this is not gonna work, it is a damn large missile, we'll all be mince'. Maybe I'd rather go to it and try to ... er... dunno, disconnect the battery? I'm rather technical-minded Yesss. that sounded stupid. I know. Ah yes... and Happy New Year y'all.

Whenever I'm faced with a life and death situation, like an out of control car coming at me, or three enraged Dobermans, the last 'coherent' thought that hits me before flight instinct takes over is something along the lines of: Well, at least now I can discover if I truly have superpowers or not. This is how my mind works. Super-heroism is always an alternative to me, however remote. When I read Spider-Man comics, or X-Men comics, these aren't fantasies... they're options.

Well, Fry is in more danger that the others being the who's on the actual edge of the waterfall. Now, there are 5 different 'love languages' in a special segment, and I reckon I've worked out the ones that are relative to them. 1: Quality Time: Fry and Leela spend alot of their time together and this is what builds their relationship from the start and then becomes something treasured in later episodes. 2: Physical Touch: (stop sniggering) 'I just wanted was a mum and dad to hold me and stroke my hair and tell me they loved me.' Fry and Leela yearn for love which neither of them recieved much in their childhood. Late in the series they start comforting each other with hugs and such. 3: Acts of Service: How many of you would take on an army of angry water people? Go out and risk being caught be Santa? Give your Oxygen? Stand in front of a giant bee stinger? Make a deal with the Devil? Leela and Fry have sacrificed so much for each other.

Yes. I don't have them all, but I know there's a really shippy scene in #21.
The 'take it off or I'll break it off' line was in A FLight to Remember, so that was pretty early on in their quasi-relationship.

And I believe TLF's five aspects are just one of the many frameworks trying to give shape to love. As for the quality time, I believe Fry & Leela do spend a lot of time together, but it's not all quality. Also self-sacrifice does not necessarily imply love (but strongly hints it ) And here is one of my favourite fanarts: Oh... let me die Defending my Love. The sting that made Leela aware of her love for Fry and showed how much Fry really loved Leela. A great episode. My Favourite.

If it makes any difference, I though the post was lovely, I like it alot
*pokes Coldy* You mister man need to relax and enjoy shippy things, instead of going all 'macho', you're not fooling me, I know you like shippy really so stop hiding it.
ooooooh, just thought of a sad song! BY me, its based roughly on Leela's thoughts in the Sting, please don't flame me, I burn easily.
You gotta hold me, You're the only thing, That keeps my head above the waves,
You gotta save me, You lift me up, And stop me drowning in my sea of misery,
And in the darkness, When I'm all alone, I think of your name, And picture your face, You're the light my life baby,
Come on and hold me, You're the only one, Who stops me falling through my life,
Please save me, You hold me up, And stop me sinking in my pit of despair,
And in the darkness, When I'm all alone, I think of your name, And picture your face, You're the light my life baby,
Oh hold me, Where are you where are you, Come on save me, I need you I need you,
Coz I'm lost in the dark, And there's nobody home, I'm calling your name, but you're nowhere around!
You were the only one, And now you've left me all alone, I'm drowning in misery, Falling in despair,
Oh hold me, Where are you where are you, Come on save me, I need you I need you
Coz I'm lost in the dark, And there's nobody home, I'm calling your name, but you're nowhere around!
I'm wondering through time, Wait for the date, When I'll meet you again, The day I meet my fate...

Sweet art. The Sting's my fave ep too. It's such a well written episode and the shippiness is wonderfully deep. Music! Shall I get my Trumpet? Or my Keyboard? Or my guitar?

70s show, eh? I remember the 1970s... which is odd because I was born in the 80s. But this is the sort of extratemporal contridictory paradox you get when you screw around with the fabric of time and space.
