Okay as a newbie I hope I'm not dragging up worn out discussions BUT how do people think this new movie will deal with the Fry/Leela angle? I heard there's a rumour that the movie will be Bender heavy so I thought maybe they're going to avoid focussing on the F/L interplay too much as a way of putting it off, but they won't be able to get away with that for long. And if they're making 4 movies I'm assuming they won't want F/L to get together too quickly in case fans lose interest. It'll be difficult for them to put off the resolution until the very end especially if CC decides to buy more episodes. Hmmm the possibilities are bewildering

She could have done anything... well, almost. But I agree that licking him would have been a bit too much. What I enjoyed so much in the Sting (my fav ep) is the candid JOY that Leela displays every time she meets Fry - of, course, in addition to the RELIEF that she has not killed him.. The joy expresses her subconsciuos LOVE of him; her relief, the GUILT for being responsible for his death (by bringing the friggin' bee in the ship - duh - see below) My dilemma - and this is a topic for the Deep Down Thread - is: how much guilt and how much love ??? She is in a coma, but it is IMPORTANT. I guess a lot of 'shippers' ask themselves: does Leela love Fry ? A Little, a Lot ? But is there really little and lot in love ? Also may I mention that Leela bringing in the bee was totally against her rational and crew-protecting nature. They could have found a better reason for the bee to be in the ship! But I don't care much for the reason, really @ Various, regarding basking in the Fry / Leela near misses: you people write as if Fry & Leela getting together would estinguish all the 'fizz' (don't like the word but I am lazy now) of their blooming relationship. NewsFlash: THERE IS LIFE AFTER STARTING A SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP! THERE IS LIFE AFTER GETITNG MARRIED! People, believe me, it may even get better ! Or more exciting, if need ed to entertain those millions of eyes watching you through that glass screen you always wondered what was for (Ok, here's the clue: it was a metaphor for Fry & Leela being watched by us - lame huh) Sorry for shouting. but have some faith, people! But be aware: once you get into something really serious (you'll know that sooner / later), watch your sanity. Taraaa ! (Exit in a cloud of smoke - actually more like the Roobot Devil running on the side of the stage)

That would be really funny, but as frustrating as hell for us viewers. Talk about torment. Yes Fry would have to reach his limit sooner or later I guess, but I think he must realise deep down that Leela has feelings for him, otherwise his behaviour wouldnt really be appropiate. I mean, if you love someone but you know they dont feel the same, you respect their feelings and eventually accept it isnt to be. I think Fry knows that Leela genuinely does have feelings aand that's why he keeps on trying. He might well decide he's had enough if Leela still won't go out with him after the opera.
