Speaking of reading fics, Xanfor...

Maybe Leela's thinking 'I should dye my hair red!'   ;)

I have now...and I liked them, especially the very sweet and nicely done Turanga segment, but I can't really comment further at the moment, for which I apologize profusely.  But I enjoyed them.

~~~
Edit (quite some time later):  Okay, I have a little more time now...
1) Turanga segment.  Very nice, I loved reading it.  Though one thing bothers me a little....
But other than that small niggling feeling of unfinishedness, which may be only because it's a "bridge" piece, it was lovely.  The writing was beautiful and involving and I totally got into it.  Turanga's a neat character, I love the way you've handled her.  She feels like Leela but not too much, she's a different person but still fascinating.
More later on the other story.  (Will someone please post so I don't have to edit this thing AGAIN?   :p )
Ok, I'll post then. Sorry if I sounded impatient in the earlier post. I didn't realize how incriminating it sounded until today. So sorry. Eh-hem, now, down to business.
Ahh, that Bender's a devious rascal, ain't he? And he might just have a plan... More goes on behind those panels than meets the eye... Anyway, he's gonna do something, I know. Something to do with the 'Ship. Yes, yes, of course, indeed.
After all,
What would Leela do?
The fact that she didn't give the disgusted look and start playing with her hair is a good sign. (Obviously)
What would leela do? kick ass.  :p
In that particular situation, however, I think she was kind of absorbing the thought that she and Fry, although parrallel, were happy together. And wondering if she should stick her nose into their business to find out all the details on WHY they were happy... :D
Sorry I never got around to responding to your critique, Shiny. It's just that I started to write my reply, and then I finished, and then I looked back over it, and then I said 'OMG, that's it!' and I got caught up in writing again. Thank you, thank you!
(And yes, it's supposed to leave you expecting more.  :D )
wait, wait. why is her hair not floating up? the suppository pills let people walk on the ocean floor, but her hair is in the exact same spot as it would be on land. its futurama, but still...thats just plain weird.
It's not weird.  Hair tends to fall into the patterns it's used to being in.  Plus, she uses futuristic super-strength hair spray.
And the salt water question is easy to answer, too: the pressure pills keep fluids from moving easily back and forth through the bodily membranes.  (Of course, they can be pushed out by other means...and the water isn't getting warmer, you're just imagining things!  ;) )
 and Leela is...smiling?
They're not leaning, they're in the act of backing fearfully away from Robot Santa in the first Xmas episode.  Leela's not smiling, she's explaining desperately why he shouldn't kill them.
What I like the most is, even though Leela's the action half of the pair, and she has just saved Fry's life in a heroically physical way, Fry is trying to protect her from Robot Santa's arsenal by shielding her with his body.  It's not that Fry is being sexist - he's always willing to let Leela kick ass to save him - it's just that Santa is so powerful that even Leela doesn't stand a chance against him. So, Fry tries to protect her in the only way he has available.
It's so very sweet, and a lovely inadvertant foreshadowing of "The Sting."  :hopelessly romantic *sigh*:
Remember, remember the 25th of December... Because you're gonna die! (No, it isn't a quote.)
Robot Santa was a good character in iffy episodes, and that makes me sad.
Wha-hat?!  Okay, "Tale of Two Santas" was a "B" level, but "Xmas Story" is a great big shippy "A"...surely!
Xmas Story was the second ever episode I saw. Fry immediatly stole my heart and I was addicted.
Yay for the shippy moment- I hadn't actually thought it foreshadowing to 'The Sting' but that's awesome.  :)
Fry does have a tendency to use the 'throw self in front of and hope for the best' maneuver when Leela is involved doesn't he?
How freaking adorable is that?! I love when he gets all protective like that!
Yeah, I hope he continues doing that in future episodes, that's kind of why it would be a better idea for it be harder to get Fry and Leela together then have them instantly hook up when the series continues
I agree, Venus. THAT there is SO shippy. And i like shippy. @tyraniak: I agree. I think they should get together like the second-to-last episode or something. That'd be fun.
you think that's geeky? I frame-by-frame through shippy parts of eps so i can see every detail of their expressions. Devil's hands and the sting are the main ones i do that with.
wow. so you watch them all in every language too? the best places to hit the 'audio' button is during shippy eps. and songs. although 'bee happy' and 'i want my hands back' were reverted back to English, with some parts of the songs where they don't sing
(no! take my hands!)
(but does zoidberg worry? feh, you wish!)
are back in spanish. it was a little confusing and a lot dissapinting seeing as how they sung the other songs. i can sympathize 'bee happy' as an originaly english song, but the other?...
Also guilty!  But there are favorite frames where I just let it sit on "pause", and that's one of them.
I have, at times, paused. Not often though, I prefer to read deeper into dialog and vocal inflections. Both are totally valid ways to pan for info, visual panning does seem to be the more popular (obviously.)
i also replay certain lines to study vocal inflections. When i watched the Sting last night i kept replaying Leela's "It got through" line. I love her tone so much. Also Fry's "Just. Wake. Up. Please" Billy West is such a wonderful actor. Actually the tone of Fry's voice at that part is the entire inspiration to my fic.
