Well... the charachter Xanfor BeanBeanBean. He had a really short appearance on "Anthology of Interest I", same as Katrina. @Xanfor: Do so, but since we don't know a thing of him I'd say that he was pretty meaning and useless. If you want to play that meaning and useless role do so. Oh, one more thing. In case you are curious about some things that happen here, or that seem to be odd as well as general guidelines of behaviour we have, I recommend you to read our little FAQ, the PEELers's FAQ. It pretty much summarizes and explains PEEL's community rules and gives a lot of tips on how to use it and what things said means.

Gene hated CBS with a passion after they did that to him. Pity, because Lost In Space was a pretty crappy show.
As for spoofing ST:TOS, it's so easy since it's a part of pop culture. Captain Picard and Sisko just don't have the name appeal as Captain Kirk.
But in TMLH's the Professor blew up DS9 with the PE Ship's high beams...

A google search on it mostly gives Futurama quotes, or nicknames of members at some messageboards. Depends how you spell it. There was a character named Zanthor in an episode of the old He-Man cartoon. ( Here's a picture.) But if that's where the Futurama writers got the name, then the name seems to be all that they borrowed. Originally posted by Xanfor: He seems to me like a middle-aged graying Vulcan who dresses simply, smokes a pipe, and has the quite thoughtfulness of Sherlock Holmes. My kind of guy! Personally, I think he's based on Carl Sagan. Intendant Commander I still don't know what that is. Do you mean Lieutenant Commander?

The professor says "Zanthor". Although, this could be spelled "Xanthor" in an effort to get the mystery letter "X" in there and make it more sci-fi. However, "Xanfor", with an Earth "F" makes no sense. It confuses and irritates me. The conclusion that I am forced to draw is that "Xanthor" is the preferred and more science-fictiony spelling, and "Xanfor" is more prevelant because of the high percentage of idiots this world is cursed with. As far as signing posts "Intendant Commander Xanfor" goes, I would suggest that the be used as a signature block and only be used for truly special posts. And when it comes to rank, 25-star General is above all of them Edit : (As in Zapp Brannigan is commander in chief of Earth, and Earth is second only to Omicron Persiei 8).

Naa, Billy West is shorter than Xanfor, and his hair isn't gray yet. Plus, Xanfor is laid back and thoughtful, while Mr. West is more outgoing. I think Xanfor is based either on Carl Sagan (as mentioned above), or the character Flint in the Star Trek episode 'Requiem for Methuselah'. However, I wouldn't be suprised if Billy West does his voice. Originally posted by totalnerduk: The professor says "Zanthor". I think 'Xanphor' is a more sci-fi spelling. This is my 100th post! All bow before the Bending Unit!

I wouldn't put that analogy on anyone - Dr. Smith looked like a recruiter for NAMBLA -(his 'friendship' with 'young William' was a tad creepy). No, Zanthor looks like a cross between Sarek and the Romulan Commander in 'Balance of Terror'. They look so simular until you could almost say they were the same person...

I've already done both. However, the pronouncation of phonics sounds is not what we're debating here. The primary issue is what the professor actually said.
