Hey, I liked the Fry/Amy romance.  But she's Kif's smizzmar now.  You can't have another Fry/Amy romance without dealing with Kif and their spawn.

Again, Fry+Leela is far more likely (eventually...) because it has been set up for so long.  Besides, who else is Fry going to have the luck to marry?  Hattie?  Petunia?  The radiator?

At least Leela has had the chance to see Fry's "inner greatness".  I think we know whom she will choose.

wouldn't another Fry/Amy romance be a bit pointless? i mean, once was good, but they broke up. there would never be any chance of them getting back together again, nd if they did, it would be a bit boring

I agree, it would be pointless at this point to shove Fry and Amy together again.

(I suppose now would be a good time to specify that my shipper sidings largely apply to fanfiction....)

I think the K/A pairing is one of the reasons I find F/A somewhat appealing, though.  I used to love Kif, but as many before me have already pointed out, he became a less appealing character (to some) in seasons 3 and 4, which was coincidentially (or not) when he hooked up with Amy.  I think it would be horrible to break those two apart now (especially now that there are kids involved   :p), but I'm not fond of the bumbling, weak subordinate Kif has become.

Now to try to drag this thread back to the original topic....

I.. When Fry and Leela get together, how is that going to affect their work environment?  After all, F/A was distracting, and Bender/Ship was downright dangerous.

Excellent question.  Which is why I think they should put off the Fry+Leela joining till the final movie.  It's like the romance in Moonlighting or other TV shows.  Once the main couple get together, plots tend to sag.  So keep Fry and Leela's union till the final episode, I say.

Because otherwise, as you suggest Officer, the work environment at Planet Express would be totally altered.  At least with the Amy/Kif romance, they are separated by being in different spaceships.  The long-range romance works much better than an intra-office Fry/Leela explicit romance would.

As much as it make this shipper's mouth burn with the heat of a thousand Jalepeno's, I must agree.   :(

If the writers bring Fry & Leela together too soon it'll seriousy screw-up the dynamics of the show.

Mind you, not that I think they couldn't do it, but that it's fraught with opportunities to screw it up, but good!  :nono:

I just don't see the up-side.  :hmpf:

eeh, about fry and amy, that is possible, right.
i mean, amy met kif before "Put your head on my shoulder" but that didn't stop them.
i'm not saying i want them to get together again 'cause i'm more on the "fry/leela-side" :P but i hope you get my point.

I don't think Fry and Amy ever even had a romance.  As I said before, all they had was just fun fling, because neither of them had a date for Valentine's Day.

Plus, it makes he suspicious to the fact that Amy meet Kiff before that episode.  Maybe Amy was cheating on Kiff?

...

Amy had no idea that Kif was interested in her until he revealed the fact himself in AWitM, which takes place half a season after PYHoMS.  And Fry and Amy's whirlwind "romance" (which it, admittingly, probably wasn't) started before Valentine's Day.  I don't think they even considered Feb. 14th when they initially hooked up.

With that, I think I have successfully and completely derailed this thread.    :hmpf:

Damn you for stealing my point! The main problem is that *if* the series ever comes back, they have already given a hint that something will happen with Fry and Leela in TDHAIP - I don't know how they are going to work around that, because they cannot have Fry and Leela become a serious item in a cross-episode story arc. It just wouldn't work - it's a lot better to keep us guessing.

Well, we all know how smooth Fry is about dating, even when Leela is "still seduced from before" by his holophonor playing.

Once he got rid of the worms, after all, he went back to Leela and said (Parasites Lost):

Fry: Please. Give me a chance to be romantic on my own. I've got a baggy of massage oil, and I'm gonna give you my super back rub, just like a I used to give Amy when I was going out with her, and she always seemed-- Uh-oh!

So, my bet would be, something will eventually happen between Fry and Leela (assuming more episodes or movies are made.)  However, I don't think Fry's a smooth enough romancer to even date Leela well.  As before, it would take something -- astronomical -- to get these two together, no matter how much they are obviously meant to be.

Like what? fry has already saved her, impressed her in many eps and revealed her parents to her. There i think I made my piont.   :puke:

Of course they're for each other! But you have to admit, they both have some things to learn first.
