It'll be hard to find an actress with only one eye...

Maybe we should pick an actress with 2 eyes and poke one out!

Pretending that they actually made the film. To get the actress playing Leela to look like she has one eye, they'd just film her wearing a blue/green screen patch on her face then add a CGeye in later.

There 's that girl from the Fifth Element;
She could be Amy.
I was inspired by a fanart crossover with Amy as that girl.

BigDogWeigand: they can't do a real futurama film without it being a complete joke
FemJesse: Yea...
FemJesse: so we should rent a camera and get Kevin and kait over and make one... like a Five minute thing.
FemJesse: And Kevin would make the most perfect Zapp
BigDogWeigand: say what?
FemJesse: And Kait could be Amy.
FemJesse: And that would be hilarious
FemJesse: Cause she looks nothing like amy.
BigDogWeigand: Concepts good
BigDogWeigand: and I think it would be funny as all hell
FemJesse: Kevin:  Jesse its VELOUR....
Jesse:  My name is Leela.  L-E-E... LAH.
FemJesse: You could be kif
FemJesse: We'll get you a lime green stocking to wear on your head...
BigDogWeigand: you are such a (fill-in the blank). I was thinking more along with lines of Fry
FemJesse: I know a guy who's a shoe-in for Fry
BigDogWeigand: who might that be?
FemJesse: That guy I was in the threesome with
(Long Silence)
BigDogWeigand: anyways, I'm not too cool with doing stuff on camera
FemJesse: You can be the camera man then... or Bender... We'll just have a trashcan play Bender.
FemJesse: and do a voice over.
BigDogWeigand: right. Just give the whole thing some thought
BigDogWeigand: and not just some big joke
FemJesse: no way you said yourself it would be a big joke.
BigDogWeigand: okay then: don't make it look like some weekend crack dream
FemJesse: Well... I'd look good.
FemJesse: I'll ask the Peelies...

So Peel PPL, what do you think of a five minute completely sarcastic fan video?

We could get Weeman to do Santas little elves. Or maybe that black midget who knows Kung-fu.

Nah, but i would definetly go with Linda Park for Amy.
And Angelina Jolie looks more like Leela, except for the padded bra.

FJ Go for it....  While it wouldn't be like "actual" futurama, alot of what you do isn't, and it's all stunning, so I'd think your video idea would be equally as good!

Kinda reminds me of "Hardware Wars" which was an amateur short parodying Star Wars (the first one, back in 79)

Ham Salad = Han Solo
Darpth Nader = Darth Vader (he was always unintelligible)
Augie Ben Dogie = Obi wan Kenobi
Artie Deco = C3PO

and so on....

I'm really starting to look forward to this....

EDIT->
AH geez I forgot my point...  it had cheap card board sets and electric drills for laser pistols and R2D2 was a trashcan.

The "cheapness" became a part of the set design so it mad it cooler.

I would have sworn there was another thread like this somewhere (a newer one), but I was just watching David Letterman, and Paul Shaffer was mumbling about something and sounded exactly like the professor. If you took the sunglasses and hep-cat outfit off him and gave him a labcoat and some thick specs, I think he'd be a great Prof. Farnsworth.

As you were...

Damn, Futurama live action movie. That would suck, man. I mean, we're all used to seeing it as a cartoon, it was born as a cartoon, it died as a cartoon...... it should be reborn as a cartoon.

And the actors couldn't be the voice actors (Billy West would look retarded dressed as Fry anyway), reason being the voices would be very strange and we just wouldn't be able to see them as the loveable Futurama characters.

And it would cost a bundle - all the explosions and hover stuff and strange objects that are in every Futurama episode. And a CGI eye on a two eyed real actor? Wouldn't that look retarded too?

And seeing Zoidberg and Bender as CGI or something would look kinda stupid too.

Damn though, just remember they were considering making The Simpsons movie live action at first!

Wow, that was too deep for me. I need to listen to some Eminem records.

somebody on idMB said Seth Green was a dead ringer for fry if they made a live action movie (even though most of idMB is rubbish) and leela, bender and zoidberg would look crap too as it would be CGI too so only fry amy, proffeser and zapp would look believeable (sorry to moan i just want to get my point across

as amy's mum, that lady from DAG, i think thats what its called, i think she is the voice for her anyway, if not she sounds alot like it, Conan For Fry, haha, Dr. Dre as hermes would be cool, leisly neilson as Zap, old but remember make-up.

I always thought that Leela in live action wouldn't look that attractive at all (unless you dont mind a bag over her head) cos lets face it, cyclops tend to look quite freaky in live action movies, and an eye aint that big in real life but then if it was as big as leela's it would be even more frightening!

Maybe its just me but trying to think about what she would look like in reality kinda disturbs me!!

Dr Dre would never take the role of Hermes, he's 'too cool' along with his buddies Eminem and 50 Cent. Snoop Doggy Dog would be more likely and probably better... but then he's not fat enough.

If you mean Lauren Tom, then yes, she does do the voice of Amy's mom.  She does Amy's voice too.

Just a thought, but why not cast an actual Jamaican as Hermes?  I'm sure there must be some good Jamaican actors who could fill the role.

Make-up is good for making actors look older, but not so good for making actors look younger.  Anyway, in my opinion, the only man who could ever have played a live-action Zapp was Phil Hartman.

I'll agree with that, but this was an academic discussion to begin with.

I'm sure one of the lead actors in "Cool Runnings" could be a good Hermes. Doug E. Doug being my favorite.

Although a decent bit of Futurama does include 3D scenes, it would be cool for an all 3D version.

Ben Afflec should be Fry
and Bender should be CGI and voiced by John Dimaggio.

I don't think that Bender should be done with CGI.  He should be played by an actor in a suit.  He should look something like this.

Also, Pitt Clemens should play Fry.

Someone said David Spade would make a great Kif. Whoever said that is right. Bender and Zoidberg would be CGI just like Scooby Doo or Yoda.

Sean Connery would make an interesting Professor.

Mekhi Phifer would be Hermes.

Either Amy Smart or Drew Berrymore would make an interesting Leela.

Who should play Fry?

Keanu Reeves?
Adam Sandler?

Well, Seth Green looks the part, and he could probably pull it off, but I think that Jason Biggs would make a better Fry.  He's got that whole "lovable loser" thing down, which would work really well.

Yoda should never have been CGI. Yoda should be a Muppet. I'm undecided on Bender and Zoidberg, though. I think Zoidberg would work better as a guy in a suit, unless it's REALLY good CGI.
William Shatner would have to be Zapp Brannigan.
Hermes could be any chubby Jamaican, really.

I don't think Drew Berrymore would make a good Leela. Leela is supposed to be attractive and sexy.

If Adam Sandler have any part in a Futurama motion-picture, I wont watch it, just on the principle of the thing.

Sean Connery is an interesting sugestion for Farnsworth.

My best choices:
Fry-the guy that played spiderman. too lazy to look for his name.

Leela-Carrie Anne Moss

Bender-CGI with Jon Dimaggio voice. (duh)

Farnsworth-someone suggested the professor from Back to the Future. Him or Sean Connery.

Zoidberg-CGI with billy west (duh again)

Hermes and amy-no real opinion

Scruffy-Sean connery if he's not playing farnsworth.

That is so weird because both Jason Biggs and Seth Green were at the top of young stars who would be good to play Fry.  Also I have Sean William Scott. (Stifler)  He does this dumb look on his face that is so Fry. I could picture Scott lying on the couch, drinking beer with Bender and watching TV.

I think Drew Berrymore would have the personality of Leela, not looks.  If I were going for looks, I'd pick the actress who played Jean in X2.  As for Adam Sandler, I was merely picking names of actors who are already kind of dumb.

This is a creative choice.  Tom Arnold could play Zapp.  Arnold tries to be sexy in Exit Wounds when he's in some night club scene and the way he behaved was something that reminded me of how Zapp acts for some reason.  He's got that thing were he says something stupid in movies and he is almost like how Zapp says something stupid.  I'm not saying for sure, Tom Arnold could play Zapp, but how do you people feel?

Ah, okay. I mostly pick my actors for looks, since they, as actors, are good at faking personalities. Hence the David Spade sugestion: the talkshow clips I've seen of him doesn't gice him a meek and shy personality, but his skinny body and below-average height make him a great Kif.

I agree that Adam Sandler is dumb, so much do I agree that I hate all his movies. *Gasp* Even "Happy Gilmore"? Especially "Happy Gilmore!"
