Yeah, but what if there are sequels? If you cast someone too old, there's the risk of him dying. A 40 year old with crappy makeup would last for at least 5 or 6 more sequels.

Here's my choices for a live-action film...
Fry: Nicholas Brendon.  Xander admitting he summoned the demon in last week's Buffy totaly convinced me.
Leela: Angelina Jolie.  Forgive me, but it's her Lara Croft-ness.
Amy: Kristin Kruek for sure!  She's absolutely perfect in Smallville.

No clue about anyone else though...

What I so far has been able to come up with for live-action Futurama:

Fry: Nicholas Brendon, sounds fine to me.

Leela: Kristen Johnston, Angeline Jolie (although I wouldn't object strongly against Jeri Ryan;)

Bender: Some actor in a robot costume, and then let John Di Maggio do the voice.

Amy: Linda Park, Michelle Krusiec

Farnsworth: Mel Brooks

Zoidberg: Some actor in a Zoidy costume, and then let Billy West do the voice.

Hermes: Stuff some pillows under Doug E. Doug's shirt and you're set.

Zapp Brannigan: William Shatner

Cubert: I dunno, perhaps Will Wheaton's little brother.   :evillaugh:

Kif: Gotta get back to ya on this one.

In Zoidy's and Bender's case the voice actor could also do the actual acting in tha costume.

I can't accept any negative comments about Angelina Jolie. Something bad is probably going to happen to you in a couple of days.

Angelina Jolie ISN'T that great. Get over her.
I think we should be moving in the direction of Elaine from Ally McBeal to play Leela. Her bust is definately up to the job. But she'd need a false face for the eye, and the face, and the eye, and everything, and the face....... Am I going in circles?

Amy should be Lucy Liu with a hair-job.

William Shatner for Zapp...... Oh Teral, that is still a classic idea. Got anymore hiding under that Avatar?

Why thank you, totalnerduk. I didn't know you held me in such high regard.  :D

An actor for Kif. Hmm, how about David Spade (of "Saturday Night Live" and "Just Shoot Me" fame). He small, skinny and used to play an underling.

Spade's got the right voice for for Kif too.

John Lithgow has kind of the right atmosphere to be the professor, he just needs to be less melodramatic.

Bernie Mac should be Hermes.
I agree with David Spade being a great Kif

Even if he fits the part, we can't cast David Spade just on principle.

I say we get Tom Cruise. He's a fey little midget, who scores with women he doesn't deserve. Expensive yes, but as you can see he's perfect for the role.

William Shatner IS Zapp Brannigan!

Farnsworth - Christopher Loydd, or maybe Christopher Plumber (he'd never do it, but it would be a hoot to see)

Wow, this bring backs memories. I think those were some of my more intelligent posts back then.

If Zoidy and Bender is to be done with CGI, we should leave it those who made Gollum spring to live (who was that again?).

KIf should definetely be done by David Spade. No question there.

URL (the police robot, right?) could be played by some actor in a robot suit, and voiced by the futurama voice actor, soul man Isaac Hayes or Barry White*

*too bad he got a stroke

There 's that bald guy from that improvised comedy show with Drew Cary. He could be Kif.

Mom could be played by the woman who did Cruella in the non-cartoon 101 Dalmatians movies, or alternatively by the woman who played that guys mother in Requiem for a Dream. You know the one, she ended up in a mental clinic.

Teral:I think the Gollum guys are Weta Digital or something like that.

I'd say Zhang Ziyi or Michelle Krusiec (after googling her) for Amy.
And I agree with Bernie Mac or maybe Forest Whitaker (with a wig, obviously) for Hermes.

I think that Carrie Anne Moss (Trinity from the Matrix) would make the perfect Leela. When you look at pics of her not in her Matrix black leather and sunglasses costume, she looks just like leela + we know she can act. Carrie Anne also has a slightly big nose (but in an attractive way) so that makes her even more perfect for Leela.
Toby Maguire (Spiderman) would make the perfect Fry.
Yorokodi is right about Christoper Loydd ( Back to the Future-Doc Brown) playing Farnsworth, just imagine it, he's perfect!
Amy should be played by Lucy Lui
Bender and Zoidberg would need to be animatronic/CGI, so the original voice actors could do them.
I don't actually think it would be a good idea to make a Futurama live action film, but it's just fun to imagine those actors in the roles.

I've also always thought that it would be worth making a live action Simpsons just to see William H Macy play Flanders, and to have Steve Buscemi as Moe or Herman!

I nominate myself to play Leela in the Futurama Live Action Movie.

For Fry, James Dean should be brought back from the dead.
Bender should be cg.

I agree that they should be left in he world of 2D, but it's fun to ponder the possibilities.

Biggest vote against it would be that they'd have to "reimagine" it, IE &&&& it all up.  Just look at Planet of the Apes or Battlestar Galactica  (actually BG looks like it *might* be ok, but I'm not betting on it)
