Is it the calculon-like robot arm he gets the Xmas card from or is it Mom ?

The robot arm is his "biological" mother, I guess mechanical would be the better word, and Mom is his "adopted" mother, the one who raised him by giving him programming and such.

You mean the programming that makes him a theif, boozer, gambler and womanizer.  Those aren't really motherly characteristics.

NO! Don't kill C4, Kill the T4 section of the channel, which is the one responsible for knocking off futurama on Sep. 11th. In fact, now I come to think of it, they knocked it off coz it showed NNY, and they wanted to show news crap. This means that Osama Bin ALden is the one responsible. Damn! So that would make his father a bending bot like Bender and his mom a giant arm. In order for it to make sense Bender's dad would have to be running the giant arm while Bender was produced.

It would make sense that the "mommy" bot was the final assembly arm at the end of a long line of "daddy" bots. They put little components together on the production line, and deliver them to the "mommy" for assembly. The bot that programmed Bender would be like a "godparent".

So to dredge up an earlier comment, Bender has not got "two mommies" but multiple "daddies", which is even more disturbing.

I always thouht that the arm was Bender's literal mommy, whereas Mom is his figurative mommy.

here's my theory (i put it toghether from almost everythin' i have seen in this thread.):
bender's mom is the giant arm.
bender's dad controlled the giant arm.
bender's other mom (mom) is the boss of the factory that bender was built in, so if it wasn't for her, bender wouldn't be built.
so that means bender has two mommy's and one daddy.

Thought I'd resurrect this. Bender, as far as I can tell only has the one Mommy. The Arm.

the daddy bots are the bits of machinery that put his components together (sperm) and the Mommy put them into the housing (egg).

His godparent is responsible for his behaviour (programming), and Mom is the Matriarchial Ruler of them all, making her the great-grand-mamma of them all.

Maybe somebody should make a poll, with some sensible options, and some sensible theories that we can vote to tear to pieces.

What I'm wondering is wether Bender has the same mother as Flexo. The box that Bender's head gets taken out of has another robots head in it, just like Benders, but with a goatee just like Flexo, could it be?

Been there, done that.

Bender's mummy is seen in "Xmas Story", an industrial robot arm. Mom is his step-mother. Could be either of those two who uploaded the info to Bender, about avoiding cops.
