whats up with zoidberg some days hes mega stupid and others days he acts just like fry

Nono, Zoidberg has 3 phases. One is cheap slapstick comedy, like screaming at Fry's ex-girlfriend in They Cryonic Woman, or squirting ink 3 times in an episode. That's usually really bad and I hate to see Zoidy treated that way.

Sometimes he's alien and uninformed but still confident, usually in his doctor role. This is good.

Sometimes he's pathetic and lonely and sad, which I don't like to see in excess. But it's nice to see him excited over an Xmas card or when he gets a pogo stick from the demonic Santa (One of my favorites. "You've all been VERY naughty! Except for you, Zoidberg. This is for you.&quot

You couldn't have any other character eat bait and get chased around with a fishing pole, or suck on the professor's head. And I'm still holding out to see him eat Nibbler.

Dr. Zoidberg is at his best when he acts alien and/or uninformed. Just look at his first scene ever in "The Series has Landed". Or when he examines bender in "Fry and the Slurm Factory". Or when he goes into "that special phase" in "Why Must I be a Chrustacean in Love". Or his little part in the "Spa V" recreational place in "How Hermes Requested his Groove Back". Or......

About his pathetic/poor/lonely side. When done right it's absolutely hillarious. A good example is in "Put Your Head on my Shoulder" when Bender adn Leela discuss the true meaning of love.

His little battle with Hermes is also good when Zoidberg gets the upper hand, ala the bobsled scene in "X-mas Story".

dr z is good when he has small parts, but when they do whole eps on him it just gets weird

Dr Zoidberg is the best!! Although i agree with you futurefreak, some of his full episodes are weird,  but he is soooo cool

and the evil santa likes him, so he must be good

I dont think he liked him after zoidberg electric-shocked him. Technically zoidberg saved the day in that one.

i love when that doctor gives him that medicine (or candy as Dr. Z calls it) in (forgot episode) and gets all high: "Why always with all the fighting?" and "Clack"
