Most overrated character?

Inspired by the "most underrated character" thread.

So, to kick things off, who do you think is the most overrated Futurama character?  Which character do you just not see the appeal of, or do you think isn't worthy of all the praise he gets?

I'm going to ostracize myself here, but I really think Zoidberg isn't that funny.  Too often the writers stretch him out in odd directions too much.  But my vote for "most overrated" has to belong to Scruffy.  He's basically a one-joke character.  Scruffy just isn't that funny in episodes where he has a lot of dialogue/screen time.  (re: "Three Hundred Big Boys." )

Zapp Brannigan. He's funny sometimes, but he's a very hit or miss character. Not as funny as some people exaggerate him to be,

Bender. Now don't get me wrong, I love him like a pile of awesome love, but, as the shows flagship character, he's given a little more credit then he deserves.

Leela, I mean I know people like her cause she's hot, and even thought she is the smartest and sanest of them all, but how stupid can a girl get, Fry is right in front of her, right in front, get with it idiot. And also she isn't as hot as every one thinks, I mean what's up with her lipstick, can she not figure out where her lips start and end *waits for huge group of lonley guys masterbaiting to pictures of her to beat me up*

Bender is one if not the best Character, but they squeeze him in everywhere and basically smothers everyone else in screentime.

I'd probably go with Bender. I mean I think he's really funny, but a lot of people place him as the show's funniest character and there a few others I can think of that are, as I see it, more deserving of such a title.

Though I'm most likely to join him when I say I voted for Bender. Yeah, he's funny and a good character, but he's not the fun-in-a-can people (and some of the shows creators) make him out to be. Most Benderific episodes a pretty bland.

People most likely react to the way fans think Scruffy scenes is the best thing since sliced bread. Persoanlly I think they were dangerously close to overdoing it in "Future Stocks".

Scruffy's included because he's basically a one-joke character. (No one at PE knows who he is, yet he works with them.)  I think it would have been hilarious if he showed up solely in AoI 1 and Parasites Lost, and that was it.

Bender's just overexposed, not overrated. Amy is overrated. Sure, she's a hot asian chick with a violent temper, and sure she's a slut, but... I'm not sure where I'm going with this, except that people make far too big a deal out of somebody who has so little time onscreen, and is entriely absent from many episodes.

Zapp is underrated, definately. He should have had a little more exposer, and Bender a little less. The whole Zapp/Leela thing was hilarious... laughs based on that never failed. Zapp himself had about three lines EVER that weren't in themselves pure comic gold.

The Zapp Salute... I find myself using this more and more often as a gesture of mock-respect to people. And they have no idea WTF I'm doing. Which makes me do it all the more. Except for Phil at work. He knows. And he laughs.

To wrap things up:
Go, Zapp! Die in pain, Amy! STFU, Bender!

That's the way ostracism was done in ancient Greece. When political struggles got out of hand and threatened the stability of democracy, the solution was to disspell one part for a period. All citizens (in this case citizen means free, adult men) wrote the name of the person they think should be ostracized on a piece of pottery (ostracism comes from the Greek word for pottery fragment ostracon) and they person with most pottery fragments "won". Ostracism doesn't mean loss of honor or life.

Basically I just don't think Zoidberg is overrrated.

That isn't lipstick, her lips just look like that.  Watch "Amazon Women..." to see her actually put on lipstick.

You, my friend have obviously never heard of Boba-Fett. He said three lines the entire trilogy, and he's a StarWars icon. Aurra Sing praised almost as much, and she had 1 an 1/2 seconds of screen time.

Boba-Fett is badass. I don't think screentime nessicarily dictates that we shouldn't like a character. Just because the camera didn't follow him around a lot, doesn't make his character any different. TotalNerduk, if Leela had Amy's amount screentime, would that make a Leela a bad character ? Would that make her a different character? No. Besides you talk about Amy as if she was an extra! She has like 3-5 lines an episode that isn't centered around her.

I'm surprised Morbo hasn't been mentioned yet.  He's pretty much a one joke character, and a visual one at that.  I'm not saying that he's not a funny one joke character, but I don't see the plain worship of him.

I think Leela is overrated....*gets killed by PEEL*...I like her, but she's never been one of my favorites. Although she is a main character, she seems more of a supporting role for Fry and Bender and even the Professor at times.
Also, on a less controversial note, Hypnotoad. Sure,  he was a funny joke, but I can't believe how many people seriously consider him as one of their favorite minor characters.

I think I have to agree. Leela is pretty overrated. I mean, I like her, but not as a major character. Then the episode just goes nowhere, because she's not funny, and isn't interesting enough to support an entire story. That's why "A Leela of Her Own," "Leela's Homeworld," and "The Sting" felt pretty average / bad to me.

Anyway, chalk another one up for Bender. Sure, robots are awesome, but he's just a fat, alcoholic asshole like the rest of us. Nothing original. He's Homer Simpson rolled up in robot form.

Rock on, Idan, McFly and totalnerduk!  If anything, Zapp's the most UNDERRATED character!  I could go into this huge rambling about why I think he is, but I think totalnerduk got to many of the points before I did, and it would seem a little... you know... arrogant, I guess.

I think we proved this somewhere else, but Amy's been proven not to be a slut.  Compare who she's slept with to who, say, Fry or Bender, and I believe her number of partners is less.  And she's been in a relationship for the last two seasons.

Another candidate: Calculon.

Lamarche does a great voice for this character, otherwise I don't see what's soo appealing/interesting about him. He is seen in countless cameos and one-liners, but most of them is rather boring or pointless. He was pretty good in "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV" and his " Do you have another Go To 10-line?" in "That's Lobstertainment" was great, but stuff like "Get you stinking trike of me you abe", no thank you.

Oh, and second Hypnotoad.

I'm going to go with Bender. I like the character but I think he is overused.

To use a Futurama analogy. Even though the character is ofeten seen as the funniest it does not mean episodes with them as a focus are great

I just feel the the Bender heavier episodes were not always that strong.

Yeah i went for bender aswell, i just cant watch the Bender focused eps as much as the others. Hes still a quality character but i do get tired of his jokes sometimes.
