In "I Second That Emotion," when in the cathedral (which incidently makes a whole lot more sense after you watch Beneath the Planet of the Apes), did the mutant with gills (forget her name, sorry), say "It's mostly a Christmas and Easter thing?"

Maybe they didn't hear about Christmas becoming XMas? They've been living underground an awfully long time...

And what if the x-mas only is a 'above-ground' thing??

Hmm,maybe its a special phase-postponement,caused by flushing words and culture down the toilet into the orcus...

What's wrong with the word "Christmas"?

In the year 2000 something, they stopped calling it "Christmas" and started calling it "Xmas".  I'm too lazy to go look up the dates.

Hey that's my favourite too Mark, just too bad the whole Christmas/X-mas joke doesn't translate very good into danish. One of my nephews who's around 10 didn't understood that at all (until I explained it to him).

I'm also more fond of the english voices.

But back to the original topic. I know that X-mas is far more used than Christmas, but was it really changed?

Maybe one of the alien invaders outlawed Christmas, and in order to fool them the population of Earth renamed it X-mas. When the invaders was driven out they just kept the habbit of calling it X-mas.

Another explanation: Christmas was the original celebration of the birth of Christ. X-mas is the celebration of the second coming of Christ (When Aliens Attack). Since the second coming had to be pretty impressive Christmas was phased out in favour of X-mas.

Living in the sewers the mutants wouldn't be aware of theese changes.

This Wizard gets about, doesn't he?  :)

If he carries on at this rate this forum will become defunct, as anything that happened in the realm of the slightly unusual will be the work of a Wizard, and everyone will know the answer to all life's questions: Wizard.  :nono:

I think that the change wasn't noticed underground due to the following quote (apologies in advance) from the Simpsons "Lisa, cartoons don't have to be 100% realistic" -Homer, just before another Homer walks past outside-.
