In "The Farthsworth Parabox", it is established that the two universes that have met are Universe A and Universe 1. Yet he later calls his dimensional double "Professor B" when the other Farthsworth goes into the celocanth tank.
Is this Professor's fault, or lazy writing?
Just something to think about.

Just because the people from Universe B insist on calling their universe "Universe 1", that doesn't mean that it isn't still Universe B from the point of view of those from Universe A.

I would count that down to the Professor's Universe A pride.  I don't know (can't remember, to be precise... I think I need to watch the 4ACV run again) if the other universe's name was ever finalized, so it's pretty much Universe A and Universe Whatever.

Edit: I was trying to (but failed) get to what David A said so clearly. It's a good thing he beat me to the post.
