In last night's episode (The Deep South), when the Professor is saying "Great zombie Jesus!", he gets to zombie and then he mouths Jesus, but doesn't say it.  Is it always like this or did they censor it?

Ha! I thought about making a thread about this, but forgot to do it.

Apparently [AS] thought that was too EXTREME and censored it. It is not like that on the DVD or when it originally aired.

CN has always cut 'Jesus' in that episode and in "Bender Gets Made."  Even though it's Adult Swim, they still felt the need to change it, and the deletion is incredibly obvious.

Doesn't that piss you off? All he said was "Sweet zombie Jesus", it's not like he said some racial slur in there. Since when did Jesus become a curse word anyway?

I'm pissed about that too. I want to hear about Zombie Jesus!  <IMG SRC="http://peel.gotfuturama.com/ubb/smile.gif">

But they let Zoidberg say in the other X-Mas ep that he's Bender's friend Jesus and they showed that scene were Jesus was playing golf on Family Guy and you'd think that would be much worse that nutty old Prof. Farnsworth saying Sweet Zombie Jesus.

Yes, and those two cuts are the only edits in the entire run of Futurama on Adult Swim.  I don't know what you're complaining about; they've edited other shows a lot more than that.

It's using the Lord's name in VAIN-Including it in a swear or oath- that gets to some people, which I completely understand.. But really, if you're not going to censor Hell and Crap and Damn and Bitch and the like, why bother catering to the religious crowd? Like that's the only thing that'll set em off? Eh well, it's what DVDs are for.

Maybe they don't want people to think of Jesus as a zombie, for some reason only crazed TV executive witch doctors can disern.

But in the universe of Futurama, it's something that really happened. Jesus had his second coming in 2443. Therfore in their universe, there really was a zombie Jesus, it's no mockery.

Maybe but in the Family Guy chrismas ep, Peter says that X-mas is the time when Jesus comes to feast upon the living or something like that so why don't they let them say something simmilar on Futurama?

You mean in the CN versions, he just says, "Holy zombie" and just cuts off Jesus? What's the point? They might as well cut out the entire line!

I thought it sounded like "Sweet Zombie [deep odd noise]." Yeah, I guess they don't like the idea of Jesus returning as a Zombie. Or that fact it's in vain...whatever, it's hilarious.

It would be funny if the censored ATOTS - "And I'm his friend [deep odd noise]." ...and Zoidberg was replaced with a giant black censored box.

Or maybe they could just redo the whole scene as stick figures.

Wow, it doesn't get censored up here. And they don't even air Futurama with adult warning. I guess we're a bunch of Sweet Zombie Jesus worshipers.

Actually I gotta wonder about how Teletoon decides on their warnings. Home Movies is about all that gets the adult warning, Family Guy and Futurama get the viewer discretion is advised one. I just don't get what's so horribly offensive about Home Movies compared to anything else.

Saying Jesus is bad all of the sudden?

Jesus dies to save humanity (apparently) and it's offensive to say his name?

Oh well, let's all say Hitler lots of times!

Well maybe it was due to the line that followed   (I'm paraphrasing)
Man In crowd 1: What Blasphemy how dare he say this I have to do something.
Man In crowd 2: Forget it there's nothing you can do.
MIC1: Oh your right. Well I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humour.

actually chriswilson has a point. They are allowed to talk about Hitler who slaughter thousands but saying the name jesus is a no-no.
and how do they know jesus won't come back as a zombie. Futurama may just be stating a fact of the future and the censors are stopping the truth from coming out.
