What's up with Fry's nose. You know it has that round ridge on it. I've noticed that no other characters have that (including parents) so how did he get it?

I have a feeling it could be that nickel he has up his nose, mentioned in Season 3's 'Bendless Love'

Do you think doing the nasty in the pasty only affected his brain? It obviously made his nose funky too.

Or the nickle thing...

possible, but there are hundreds of different ways he could have done it. He coulda crashed his bike, fell out of a tree, car wreck, general clutziness. I think my dad broke his nose playing either football or baseball.

I know this may be breaking the wall but Fry's nose has always been like that. I got a full first season model pack from a friend whos Uncle worked on the show.

You did? How lucky! I thought his nose always looked like that.

What do you mean taht Bender has a nose? If there's an ep covering this, I may have not seen it in a while and have forgotten about it.

I thought you'd found some funky site dedicated to the noses of the futurama cast, thanks a lot for spoiling my weird flights of fancy and bringing me back down to earth with the revelation that there is no website dedicated to the noses of the futurama characters, how could you be so insensitive?

I think a vacuum cleaner would make a great nose for Bender. Just think of how much easier it would be on his looting.

It's just the design of the character. As Matt Groening always says, classic characters are recognizable in siloette. Fry's nose helps him to be distinguishable from other Futurama characters.

Who am I kidding? He stuck a nickel up it!

He got his nose allready in his teen years:

I believe there's a line which relates to Bender's nose and he says something like "I never wear it"

I'd imagine it fits in the same part that the Airhorn does in "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings".

Yes he does state that line early in Bender Gets Made, when Smitty tells him to keep his nose clean.

If you look at early conceptual drawings, Fry has an ordinary straight nose almost up to the final design.  I think they might have changed it because he'd had the typical Simpsons nose, and they wanted something different.

I had always imagined it to be kinda like a 'roman nose' type affair...

It's funny because, intentionally or not, it's a statement void of meaning. It's like suggesting that the purpose of walking is to walk. Of course it's probably not funny now I've explained it.

I like the idea of the nose being shaped like that because of the nickel. Mainly because I find it funny...

It could be the nickel, but there are some noses with a huge bump on the top. I forget what they're called, but I know some people who have them. But for now, I'm leaning towards the nickel.
