You were misreading the statement, it says they bet you woke up in the same universe/reality today, in which, said activity has not happened, ie you have not won anything yesterday, but hey it makes too much sense.

I don't really see how that correlates to my challenge to them to prove that nothing moves faster than light and that they should accept it a possibility that some undiscovered power may.
